To Save a Chief: Spikes & Valves Quest

I have managed to complete the Spikes and Valves quest several times. I do not believe I have run out of time since I manage to jump to safety without dying. Has anyone else had this problem? I have successfully completed this at least a dozen times without getting credit for it. I can only imagine that this quest is broken.

I too have completed the spikes quest several times but have not got credit for it.

So here it is 2018 and I am having the same issues as the OP. I first make my way into the next room to turn off the timer and then I turn the valves to turn off the spikes…nothing. I tried different patterns, clockwise around the room, counter-clockwise and randomly around the room. Nothing works. I would put in a ticket but I already know from past experience what support will say “re-install the game or update GPU drivers”.

I'm having the same issue. Hit the valve near the exit first. It does nothing. Then hit the other 3 valves. Nothing. Has anyone come up with a solution to this that they can share????

My problem was I hadn't spoken to the Chief before attempting the valves. Talking to him makes those little arrows appear above each valve. Hit the one near the exit first. Then the other 3. Voila.
