See, she's relatively new to video games like ESO, in fact the only thing remotely similar to it she's played is Neverwinter... Yet, somehow she's managed something I never could. I've been playing the game almost daily since it came out, she's been playing it less than a week - What did she do you ask? She only managed to defeat Angof with a puny little level 9 Sorcerer... I have no idea how, or even how she found the quest so early, but there it is. I've always been around level 14/15 or higher before I've got to him, but not her, oooh no!
No doubt someone will come in here and brag about beating him at level 5 or something, but that's not the point.

If I had a kid a that did that I feel nothing but pride knowing that they're on the right track of being a otaku.
...and that is why this game is rated "M", so the old farts among us can at least be safe from this kind of shaming by telling their daughters they cannot play this while pointing at the rating sticker and doing their best to keep their inner relief from showing!robwolf666 wrote: »Yes ladies and gentlemen, shamed. Speak for yourself... I can totally see it!stevepdodson_ESO888 wrote: »Forestd16b14_ESO wrote: »Why shame ?

I fail to see how becoming obsessed with Manga or Anime is anything to be proud of.

Here was a similar thread posted something like a year ago or less where I totally lost it in my reply to it (I don't regret it!), and I'm not going to rant again, BUT I got 1 question:
What do you do, how would you react, if some random guy came on to her and starts some kind of "dirty talk"? How could you prevent this to happen? Is that even possible? Can you protect her? You cannot make her forget when it happened.. Yeah, that was 4 questions, but anyways.
There were at least one or two threads in the near past here on the forums of which some postings made it clear that this DOES HAPPEN in this game (I guess this happens in every online environment anyways), and it happened to me in ESO as well, but I'm a grown woman and I know how to react to make them hitting the road again. A 12-year old does NOT know that.
Even a more harmless comment in chat like "wow, this dress looks sexy on you" (more in a funny way) would be a horrible thing for a 12-year old to hear or to read. I really don't want to be one of them telling her that, not knowing how old she is.
In any case, kids have nothing to do in a game like this.
Take care.
Yup, your rant is stupid. There is nothing in this game that she is not going to hear at school. Do you have kids? Probably not because someone with kids would know that to protect your child from everything means that they won't be prepared for anything. And yes, I have a son who is now 20, who has been gaming since he was 18months old and I never told him he couldn't play certain games. Blood, violence, gore, nothing has changed the good man that he has become.

I have a son who's 20 as well, nice coincidence. But he's not a gamer at all, he's got a life outside of the computer. I guess I've done something right.

lol I somehow doubt his kid was gaming at 18 months too. Sometimes people make up the wildest stuff on these forums.

Just type horse in google, see what you run into.
Sadly, it's all around us, no "kid forum" is safe, no chat site, everything is infested...
Hell, she'd be safer here than on the rest of the internet.
