But a few things have changed my perception of whether it is worth pursuing. First, zos started with chapters/pages instead of books, making it more of a grind to get motifs. Second, there are now so many motifs to chase. I think they are more of a crown marketing ploy than a crafting feature. The grind encourages players to buy the book from crown store. Each style requires it's own style mat, which drives sales of mimic stones, and ESO+ for the upcoming crafting bags. I do in fact have most of the new motifs except AD and EP styles, because most of my time, I play DC. I work towards finding or buying them, but I guess the only reason is I'm something of a completionist. I will likely never craft many of the styles, for myself or others. And the alliance style mats are too expensive....10k AP for the 3 newest, and 50k AP for Akaviri FOR EACH PIECE. That's outrageous IMO. I also have no plans to get the Akaviri motif because it is way too expensive at over 4 million AP for the complete set. That amount is more than any other motif by leaps and bounds. I know it's supposed to be an AP sink, but if there was an equivalent gold sink, players would be fuming.

The many changes to motifs since game release have taken the luster out of collecting them.
