Will the Champion Point cap be increased with the Dark Brotherhood DLC? If so, what is the new cap?

Thanks for any helpful responses.

551 for DB, unless anything changes before then (here's to hoping it does).

The last I heard (a good while ago) was Matt Firor suggesting that there would be no increase for TG, but that future increments would be in 51 cp additions.

I would realistically expect this to be the case for DB, so likely 552.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought, but was hoping from some confirmation from a Zenimax representative to confirm.

It should be raised to 720 or else half of the player base would still be at CP cap.

Last I heard from ESO Live, they were planning for 51 CP increases per DLC, starting with Dark Brotherhood. That would bring cap to 552.

I do hope they surprise us by increasing it further as I'm currently sitting at 610 CP.

I think they said they plan to increase the cap (i do not remember the exact number) with every new DLC

They also said they would base their CP cap decisions on the whole of the playerbase, not the small percentage which is already over cap.
A good decision in my opinion, to keep the already-powerful from pulling too far ahead from everyone else. I really hate that feeling in other games, when it seems like I would never ever be able to cach up... (especially when games reward those already powerful with more power... at least ESO is mostly reasonable in that regard...)

    So... we'll see...

Personally I care little. If they raise it, yay, more CP to spend. if not, so what, I get by regardless, and they'll raise it some other time...

I was expecting them to raise by 51 CP, but since there is nothing about it on the preview (and this is kind of an important change) maybe there will be no increase with this DLC, only with the next one.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Im no where near the cap but Im hoping its increased. They've held it back long enough to give players the opportunity to start closing the gap. I myself went from something like 14 CP to 99 over the last two DLCs and thats without trying and taking a few breaks from the game. It really doesnt take much to earn a fist full of CP over an hour or so of play with the new scaling theyve implemented. Time to increase it even just a little.

According to who's math? They specifically stated what most people are at in the past couple of ESO lives and it was well below 500.

Yeah, but there was supposed to be a CP cap increase with Thieves Guild too, I thought, and we didn't get one.

My fear is they're including console player information to determine to overall rate at which they should increase the cap.

@Zyle Woah, let's not be downplaying console players! Over half my main PvE guild is over the cap too!

Which they have to do. They can't have different caps. It's one game, we are all on the same patch.

    50 more?

I can stack more into spell pen, I guess.

Its by far the most useful due to the sheer amount of people that stack into every type of mitigation which includes quite a few impen pieces.

Not downplaying at all, just sucks that PC players have to wait longer for Console players to catchup.

No there will not be a CP cap increase.

According to the PTS patch notes for the DB DLC and I quote:

"The Champion Point cap will remain at 501 for this update".
