Golden Keys-Daily Dungeons

Hi, I was just wondering if the Gold keys you get for doing the daily dungeons scale with you, so for example if I use a key I got when I was vet 11, will it give me vet 16 loot when I'm vet 16 or will it remain scaled to the level it was when I got the key? I've been hearing different things and I don't want to save up dozens of keys just to be disappointed when I use them.

While you can get some v14 purple garbage from the gold key chest, the gold and silver key chests are the ONLY place you can get monster set shoulders (except occasionally from the weekend vendor in Cyrodiil). You will not get monster shoulders from the random dungeon.
So if you want bloodspawn shoulders, kena shoulders, etc. then the only place to get them is with your gold and silver keys.@wayfarerx - PC / North America / Aldmeri Dominion1 -

To answer your question, the box scales to the character when you open it, not when you get the Key.
However you can still get some VR14 items from the box, but some will be on rank. Like I got some Molag Kena shoulders on my VR15 that were in fact VR15. Note the Silver keys generally give decon trash as far as gear is concerned.
