Looking for some class/build advice

So, i know a lot of these kinds of threads have been made, but I felt I need to ask directly to the community since there is so many of you who has done all kinds of build designs. I'll first give a run down of my playstyle.

Firstly i hate being squishy, but I do not want to be invulnerable. There has to be some challenge involved with survivability but I don't want to squish like a fly instantly.

Secondly I mostly play solo but I'd like to have decent group utility as I do enjoy doing activities. Also I generally DPS or do Support DPS.

Thirdly I really enjoy using a bow in a game, but I'm not against having melee as a backup option.

Currently I have a NB bow character, but I feel it's a bit weak. I die pretty dam easy even though I'm following a build design that's suppose to have good solo survivability.

Any advice that anyone van give me on a build to work with? I don't mind starting a new character.

Would you mind putting your current build into a skill calculator, as well as some extra information such as level, stat distribution, and race, among other things? If you wanted to play a bow, Nightblade is really pretty much the best option for you.

What's your current build/skills/attributes etc? Without knowing your current setup it's difficult (and also more time consuming) to offer specific advice.

I run an Imperial StamNB with bow and 2h and I find that the extra health is marginally more useful but there are better ways to add survivability than selecting one depending on race.

However, if you wanted to roll a new character, you can go Stamina for any other class and make it work. They all offer glass-cannon and tankier approaches.

I'lll get the build later when i'm on my pc. It's a khajiit level 15 (that's why i don't mind restarting) wearing full medium and duel wield swords. I am using that first siphoning skill (forgot the name) and it's morphed to the swallow soul skill if i remember right. I got impale from assasin tree, venom aroow and scorched earth on the bow tree and going for focused aim. Then i took all bow passives and mediium arnor passives. Also got twin blades for duel wield

My stats are sorta equally distributed. Though i find the NB to be a bit harder to work with. I use to play a dk and i have a templar too.

I know nb is more suited to bow, but i still feel lacking in my survivability options. My templar is built on the Aedric Warden build that's floating around the net. It's nice but i'd like a more main wep bow orientated build.

1)I would not use Impale or Strife. Both are Magicka abilities, and in the case of Killer's Blade(impale) the other morph would be good for you.
    2) Rather than equal distribution, it's generally best to either put all points into your main stat(in this case stamina) or a split between your main stat and health. I would recommend the former.
3)You definitely want a spammable ability on your bar. You don't seem to have one. I would suggest using Veiled Strike -> Surprise Attack until you have Snipe. While it is melee, and it appears that you don't really want that as your main attack, it's pretty much necessary to have a spammable. You're likely a bit far away from Snipe- it'll be difficult to get there if you don't have one.
4)You're also gonna need a spammable AOE. In this case, you can either use Arrow Spray or Whirlwind->Steel Tornado. If you don't have Arrow Spray and aren't gonna get it soon, then I would suggest you use Whirlwind for a while.

The main thing to remember is that abilities' damage is largely determined by the character sheet's respective max stats and damage. For example: Surprise Attack's tooltip damage will be greater the higher your stamina and weapon damage, vice versa for Swallow Soul.

So whilst you probably won't notice too much of a lack of stamina damage at your level, if you're wanting more survivability you will want to focus on dumping all attribute points in to stamina and using all stamina-requiring abilities for dealing damage (magicka abilities for buffs aren't affected by the scaling). Also, the higher you can get your stamina, regen, weapon damage & crit%: the more the passives have an affect.

More damage = less damage taken.

By using DW over 2H you will be missing out (when you unlock it) the last ability which morphs to Rally. This is the only source of major brutality and healing that StamNBs have access to (other than potions but that's not sustainable at pre-Vet). So whilst Bow + DW is fine for now, I'd recommend levelling up 2H and either going Bow + 2H or DW + 2H at some point down the line.

Using the below skills are great for NB survivability:
    - Surprise Attack: great damage and grants additional resistance
    - Reapers Mark: if you're fighting a mob you can use this one of two ways. Firstly by casting on the strongest and killing quickly for +25% damage or secondly by casting on a weak add, fighting the others and using him as a way to regen 60% health when you need it
    - Relentless Focus: great for your bow bar, +8% damage, +10% stamina recovery and a free bow shot for decent damage
    - Siphoning Attacks: coupled with the above and when weaving attacks helps for managing your stamina
    - Soul Harvest: have on main damage dealing bar for quicker ultimate gains and also increasing damage by 20%. Then either Soul Tether or Veil of Blades on your off-bar for good AoE damage and mitigation
    - Mass Hysteria: best crowd control in game and nice to relieve pressure
    - Dark Cloak: guaranteed crit after casting and again helps relieve pressure
    - Immovable: unlocks at L20 (i think) heavy armour and it grants 5k resistance which can help out.

I know that you may not have unlocked some of these as yet but they will help for when you do.

Sorc Pet builds are not squishy and excel in solo situations while still being useful in groups.
