Any chance the poisons introduced with DB will improve spell damage?

I suppose it's possible that there are which poisons reduce spell or elemental resistance, or even increase spell damage against effected targets.

I would hope that if this were the case you would have to have a weapon such as a bow, blade to apply the poison if you can do it with a staff I call b.s. on that because how is your staff going to apply the poison?

I would rather say the reduce spell resistance is a better idea.

I think magicka classes already have a lot of ways to improve spell damage, I don't think they should also benefit from poison... But we shall see, ZOS seems to favour magic classes so there is a huge chance it probably will..

It would not surprise me if the "poisons" have to be made by ourselves with Alchemy ingredients.

You can see for yourself what kind of effects that will have.
Especially the negative effects of some mushrooms like Emetic Russula:
    1. Ravage Health
    2. Ravage Magicka
    3. Ravage Stamina
    4. Stun

I hope that some of the potions will be defensive. We dont need another source to increase damage when the armor is capped at 50%. I reached the cap 2 years ago but the DPS increase with every big update. ZoS there is no logic here. You should fix your game mechanic or you will need to increase the battle spirit debuff again.

I hope poisons can only be applied by phy.weapons. Just remember this patch is gonna favor Stamina based classes. Magicka classes got more then enough love in TG.

I am kinda tempted to make physical character now. Red Guard is an obvious stanima choice if I want raw damage from stanima based attacks right?

Depending on how poisons work, wood elves and argonians might make really powerful builds in this coming patch. As of right not Redguards are one of the best choices for any stamina build.

Well poisons are potions, and they get a boost from using them, increased health and resistance to poision, im sure someone who wants to be an argonian can make a more then decent build with them. People also used to say Wall of Elements was garbage, look how many ppl use it now.

How do you fire fireballs from a staff? Same way poisons could be applied.

Why not? You accept one unreal concept but say good luck to another. Unless you happen to have perpetual fireball launching staves where you come from?

Although hurts to defend the reality point in which staves can't logically hold poison to be applied to the target it's ridiculous state that magicka have more ways to increase spell power while stamina players can easily go 4k weapon damage or more.

Can't poisons be physical or magicka based?

Eg a fire poison. Maybe it makes no sense.

Poisons while cool will most likely be completely underwhelming to the group who so desperately wants them and I would bet next to useless in PvP.

Unless potions are the next Zerg busting niche introduced by the combat team, which would be about par.

Well, I hope poisons aren't going to be "thrown" at all. That does sound just too dangerous.

Applying a poison to your blade, arrow ... or well, your stick if you like... sounds much much more the way to use it.

Adding to this I hope it only triggers during (a limited amount) of light and heavy attacks.

    Why ?

Easy: currently cookie-cutter builds are favoured. Be it 100% magica or 100% stam - both have the favour of beeing able to spam their abilities with no skill required (appart from the obvious to not just stand in stupid), both also deal most dmg with the abilities (maxing either spell or weapon dmg). Poison can be a leverage to give hybrid builds a viable approach to outsmart the "maximum" setups. I think this could make encounters much more interesting, add to build diversity and increase the theoretical possibilities beyond: paper-scissor-stone (i.e. paper-scissor-stone-argonian-spock ^^).

    Sounds like fun to me.
