Restricted Areas/Zones - WTF!?!

dominic.iraceb14_ESO
Maybe i'm doing something wrong, but yesterday i entered a Restricted Area (warehouse building to complete a Quest).. I entered what looked like a 2 bedroom apartment and was caught by a guard patrolling the area (which added 300 bounty).. When i tried to leave the building, the doors don't open and i can't leave! so i tried to run into the other bedroom, which the guard followed and attacked me (which added another 300 bounty)..

I tried to kill the guard, but i can't attack them, my weapons won't work!?? WTF, how are you suppose to escape?? I can't hide anywhere, can't leave the area or kill them.. and every time i ran from room to room it added additional bounty. Eventually i had to just give up and let him kill me which deducted over 4k of bounty gold + all my stolen goods?? is this a glitch that i can't leave the building or kill guards when in Restricted Areas??

You have to remain undetected for a certain amount of time (I don't know the number) to be able to use doors.

That said, it is kind of a poor design decision to not let you use them in restricted areas that are enclosed.

That also said, there was probably a basket that you could hide in that you missed.

I think if you are not hit within 3-5 seconds you can go ahead and interact with a door. A handy tip is to get some invisibility potions for when unfortunate incidences with guards occur. This will allow you to remain undetected and not be hit for the required time so you can interact with the doors and exit safely.

Sure it does. There wouldn't be any if it didn't.

It's kind of a broken system. You probably have attacking innocents turned off. The guard is considered an innocent even when aggro ed for some strange reason.

It take me 3 clicks of shadowy disguise to lose aggro, but I think you can use a door on the second click as long as you don't get hit. If you are not a nightblade get some invisibility / speed potions.

Yea, invis does work to de-agro, which is kind of OP for the entire DLC imo, I mean, getting a perfect heist is stupid easy as a NB if you have vamp passive or set armor. I move faster in stealth than out of stealth, and I can invis past anyone that does not have a blue circle around them.

As a NB, I feel the entire DLC is a bit unbalanced, but I guess that comes with rolling that class.

That would make sense regarding "attacking innocents turned off".. I do remember seeing that somewhere.. Invisibility potions might help too.. I just sucks that it takes me so long to earn gold and each interaction with bounty reduces my earnings. I've actual lost money since i've started the thieves guild DLC!

you can wait the bounties out and do other things away from guards while it goes down too.

If you do the tip board dailies you should have counterfeit edicts. I think I have over 20 of them now - they basically erase up to a certain amount of bounty. I used 2 the other day because I wanted to get to Vamp Stage 1 fast so I just snacked on some NPCs in town then used a few edicts to immediately erase my bounty.

One of the quest rewards from TG is a gold edict, says it removes up to $100,000 of bounty. My goal this Saturday is to go on a total murder spree and see if I can get my bounty up to 900K just to use it.

Side note: there have been reports that they are not "immediate", kind of like mail, you may have to wait a few min or zone for the server to catch up. If a guard does stop you, you only have to pay 0 gold, lol, but they will take your stolen loot, so keep this in mind.
