How to Get Quest Chain for Map Completion?

For Alik'r desert, I abandoned the main zone quest after a while in favor of just running around exploring. I didn't really enjoy the main story and it seemed a bit contrived to me. So I ran around randomly doing my own thing and am now lvl 36 - close to reaching the level cap for this zone.

Unfortunately, I've run into a "tomb" like icon on the north east labeled "Motalion Necropolis" and it seems I can't get map completion to make it "white" unless I do it through the main zone quest. The problem is, I had already abandoned all the quests and so now my quest log tells me nothing.

Simple question. How do I find out where to go/who to talk to in order to kickstart the quest that will give me map completion? I've seen quest guides online, but it's a long chain and I honestly have no idea which ones I've done and which ones I haven't. I don't know where in the story line I am. I don't even know the story honestly.

Some guides say "Talk to xyz person", but I don't know who that person is, and when I go to the location I see in the screenshots, no such individual exists.

Any help?

Well... you really need to remember who was the last one giving you the quet i guess.

Anyway... i higly suggest you never abandon the main quest anymore... i'm not sure about it since i did all of them without abandoning BUT... i think that in ordr to enter coldharbor you need to do all the main quest storyin in all of your current areas... and if you want to enter the other faction's areas like skyrim for the pact etc.. you need to finish both the main storyline AND the main quest for every area.

Like if you finish all your quests you get the chance to visit ONE other faction's area... if you finish ALL of the quests in the new area you get the cadwell silver achievement and you get the chance to explore the last one.

As i said not sure since i did all of mine but.. as the progression went for me. i really think you'll be stuck unless you do all the main ones.

I think I'm stuck on the main "zone quest". From what I remember, the markers in the journal don't differentiate between that and any of the other dozens of tiny side quests. So after I while I forgot which was the main line and abandoned everything.

I really have no clue who I spoke to last, and what the story even was. The online guides point to quest givers like prince something, or king something, but I have no memory of who they are, where I met them, where they are now, and what my relation is to them...

Anyway, the thing I'm asking is - how do I find out who to talk to in order to restart the main zone quest?

Alikir takes you in a big counter clockwise circle. Look around Sentinel for a quest giver. If you don't see one there, then go South to the area that has these water collection ponds and a bunch of Assassin Beetles, near there is another quest giver for the Ashaba Tribe. If not that, then go to Bergama, no joy there, then go to Hoondings Watch or just look at the major sections for Alikir and figure out where you need to be

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

Well... i'm sorry i can't help more than this since having done all mine i never had this kind of problem.. but going by "assumption" (that for a lot of people is a really bad thing xD) i'd check on some guide ALL of the NPC i need for the quest line.. then i'd go on a ESO wiki and see if by searching for those names i'd find a result giving me the area/city or wathever they are in

you can start by looking through the achievements for that zone in your journal. See what is not completed. Then you can use google to find a walk through on the zone and might be able to figure it out. If it's part of the main quest line it should be somewhat easy. If it's a side quest the. It maybe a little more challenging. Good luck!!

It does suck if you lose track of your main quest. I spent a couple hours trying to figure it out on an alt last week. My solution was to retrace my steps by going back to the first quest giver in the zone and working my way up from there.

It was on the malabal tor map and I had just finished the final quest. Instead of going downstairs to the quest giver that sends you to reapers March, I think I ported to a wayshrine. When I finally traced my steps back to the tree where the quest giver was, it took a couple minutes of me standing where he should have been for him to appear

Check the achievements journal and use the link from Nestor.
I couldn't find one and later I saw a corner around a town and kept rising and found like 5 more quests
