I don't even play the Division. I love ESO, but at least they are on top of their bugs ASAP whether it be compensating players, disciplining exploiters etc...and they don't even have paid subscribers...idk how to feel about this when comparing the constant issues we all face every day...it makes me feel under appreciated as a paying customer to be quite honest. I guess I can make myself feel better by buying a jungle book outfit for my argonian?

Pretty sure we would get a LOT more than a few crowns if our characters were deleted and could not be recovered. The problems in ESO pale in comparison to that game. Its so full of holes, bugs and exploits its not even playable period. At least ESO only the PVP area is fubar.

When games come out, they do give out free stuff for bugs as compensation, that game came out recently, they probably wouldn't do the same if it were a year or two later with the same results.
When the servers were down for a couple of hours in EVE online due to an issue, which they could not find within the normal 30 minutes downtime window, we got a very generous allotment of skill points for free. And that game is nearly 13 years old. On top of it, the tech department gave us a detailed dev blog, about what went wrong and why it took several hours to find and fix the issue. A lot of players requested this and we got the answer in detail which made us understand why we had to deal with this interruption. This I call customer service and respecting paying customers.

I only started with console release and have yet to see that level of enthusiasm in regards to customer service. I understand ZOS has a ton on their plate to deal with atm, but it's not like they have gotten "better", in fact it seems quite the opposite. I wish I was able to play during beta and the golden years of ESO's creation but sadly I was not. I'm just going off of mine (and millions of others) current situation and the view I have on the ever elusive mind of ZOS. There is no hate, just an ever growing "trench" of a lack communication between the devs and the players who want them to be the best devs they can be.When the servers were down for a couple of hours in EVE online due to an issue, which they could not find within the normal 30 minutes downtime window, we got a very generous allotment of skill points for free. ^^^THAT is what I'm talking about. With a game as big as ESO you would think their effort into fixing their game, and explaining what needs to be fixed, would be more urgent than simply looking for new content to sell...even if the servers were offline for a WEEK I would be ok with it if they explained what was going on. Currently we have nothing...except No ETA™

Well, it was a complicated issue, which did not appear on the test server, even they had mass tests on it. But it possibly would have been an issue on the live server. It was not easy for them to find it, but in the end the issue was a technical one, because the test server is a smaller environment which is less complex than the live server cluster and so the issue appeared on the more complex live server cluster, but did not show on the test server before. it was not even an emergency, but they suspected, that if they would let the server run until the next scheduled downtime, it could possibly effect the health of the database and so they rather took it offline and fixed it immediately than to risk, that they would have to do a roll back later. Better prevent a possible error than to allow it to even happen, that was their idea and why they fixed it before going back live.

So they do listen and sort you out when things go wrong.

I sure would hope so...but seeing smaller teams put forth greater effort into fixing their (currently live) products kind of disheartens me =/. Here I am still waiting for reflective scales to be fixed...almost a month later.

Giving people free stuff is not greater effort. And you must not have been here in the beginning of this game. It was a mess and the Devs worked hard to get it stable and working the way it needed to be. Hell they gave anyone on PC crowns for every month they had been subbed in the year prior to it going B2P. As well as rewards for loyalty to the game.
People need to stop acting like they deserve some free gift every time something goes sideways in a video game. Youre not entitled to anything and it doesnt make the Developers any less hard working than others because they dont shower you with virtual gifts every time something doesnt go to your liking.
UBiSOFT has stepped up their game since their launch of AC Unity. They actually cared about the publicity they recieved from that game and immediately apologized and promised to put full force in to ensuring their released products are at the industry standard.
UBI messed up with characters being lost in The Division. Zeni hasn't really had this issue yet.
There is a huge difference between losing your entire character versus lagging out every now and then.
I don't expect compensation from Zeni, I just expect them to get off their high horse, address the problems and fix them.

See? Stuff like that makes me happy. I think my whole issue is the lack of public communication ESO has when compared to other AAA titles. They need to emphasize their good side more. If a newbie came into these forums I highly doubt they would want to play anymore...you know?

If only lagging out was the only issue lol. But that is a different discussion.
The high horse is the real issue...

Yea that's a great idea tell more people to leave the game that's a great idea.Instead of trying to find a way for ESO to keep more players you want more to leave wow your a great members member of the community. Why the hell are you guys even playing this game if it's so "crappy"?
