Could not retreive any announcements...another time eating issue, thx zenimax

So after a weekend break from EsO, i try to start the wreckingspambush online, but somehow i get the error "Could not retreive announcements" so after some looking, i see people actually had to repair 3 times to make the game ( hopefully) able to log in, thank you very much ZOS for wasting alot of time for repairing your *** patch/game over and over to be able to login to the game, maybe i could write minutes/hours or something to get a payback for all the work... and others also probaly...

and please if there are ppl to produce salt, then F#ck off, i want this *** bug getting fixed, and i believe there are alot more people out there who are complaining about this issue...

I had this issue after installing a new cable modem. Everything else worked fine but for some reason ESO would not. Could not retrieve announcements and then a 201 login error.

After rebooting the router and the modem a couple times and moving jacks around it started working for whatever reason.

I tried repairing a couple times but that didnt get me anywhere. And it acts like a connection issue with the server since the launcher wont load announcemnts either. So that is where i looked.

First thing you need to quit doing is using the Launcher, it will give false error messages. Just use a shortcut to the EXE. The announcements and patch manifest error messages have no impact on the game. They don't even have an impact on the Launcher. I only use the Launcher on patch days, and even then, once i have the patch I close the launcher, usually while it is sqwacking at me about some error message. The game launches just fine with out.

Of course, if your on the console, then not sure if you can use an exe initialization on that platform.

Still not working after 4 repairs... its not internet connection issues, all other games who use internet are working, exept EsO..

Error 201 means your client is not able to communicate with the game servers. Its your end not ZOS.

Also just fyi if you put this is the proper forum (im assuming PC support) would get more attention from the techs at ZOS.

This. PC launcher is a pile of crap. Never use it for anything other than getting the update when you need it.

It helped to give me a smoother startup and 100mb free of my RAM, *insert thank you gif*
