So I got curios about this. I wanted to know is this some post Skyrim game or what? So I looked it up. This video explains the entire Elder Scrolls timeline.
So thats it for this post. Just wanted to share that. I had no clue when ESO took place before I looked it up.
Hello everyone.
So when new people join us in ESO there is one question that is very popular, what year is it? Where in the Elder Scrolls timeline does ESO take place?
But before I go any further. There may be spoilers ahead, sort of. If ESO is a prequel to Oblivion for example, then we know everything is going to be fine again in Cyrodiil, and all Dolmens will be destroyed. Some might not care about that, but others might. So just a heads up before you ready any further and discover when ESO takes place.

I recommend that you check it out. Its well made and explains a lot. Not just when ESO takes place but for example when the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild were created. But to sum it up quickly and just the part about ESO. ESO takes place in the Second Area. Before Tiber Septim/Talos and after the Fighters Guild was made. Which means its a prequel to all Elder Scrolls games. All games from Arena to Skyrim take place in the Third and Forth era. So if your like me and just want to know if the majestic and beautiful Imperial City will be returned to its former glory, dont worry it will be. Which Im very happy about. I hate seeing the Imperial City in rubble like this. Curse you Molag Bal!

I think you might be one of the 10 people in the game who did not know this.

Do you even Lore?
I shouldn't rag on you for not having a clue about the timeline of ESO's events, I myself have only played Skyrim as well before getting this, but hey, that's what the Wiki is for. Go there and just start reading.

Cheers for posting what you've found, VDoom1, it's bound to be helpful to someone.
Thirdly, no I dont lore. I like the Elder Scrolls history and it is interesting but I dont do research on it or study it. The lore I do know Ive gotten from the games. Ive played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
