I can kind of understand the loot cooldown - or well, I could if the loot was less of a RNG fest.

Getting 8 Moondancer pieces in a row when what you want is Alkosh isn't fun, period.

And that doesn't change by removing the cooldown.

In fact, the cooldown would work great if there was a way of trading dropped gear within group, or if the loot was group based (need/greed or whatever group looting system).

I only understand a loot cooldown on normal, not for vet when barely anyone can complete it, even those that have are struggling.
It's just a *** system ontop of the rng traits and weapons coming in every set

Well, there's a reason why games like WoW have a weekly raid lockdown (I consider the loot cooldown a softer version of this) - it's basicly to keep the gear "arms race" in check. Otherwise, players would just farm the raid a couple of weeks and then be done with it forever. It doesn't matter how many players that group encompasses, it's simply bad design.

Also, it makes that one run that much more meaningful - though the whole RNG loot system needs to be fixed and more good gear/raids needs to be created to work with this system.

I was going to mention your last point. ESO does not have the activity, nor the players nor the active raids for that to work. A system like how it is now is just going to drive players away

The problem is that ZoS put loot cooldowns on top of an already terrible layered RNG loot system. These two don't mix well..

ZoS, until you improve your terrible layered RNG loot system, make this happen -

Remove all loot cooldowns from every boss except the last. On the last boss you can keep your loot cooldown where you can only receive one golden jewelry piece a week (or two for hardmode) but still make it so subsequent kills of the last boss give epic jewelry, armor, and weapons.

As you said, their RNG loot system needs to be fixed. The raid lockouts work in WoW because they have a token system.. in ESO you receive useless set/item/trait combinations like a sharpened restoration staff of the lunar bastion. Getting useless gear like that, then being locked out for a week.. it just doesn't work.

Other than Worm/Hircine/Ebon all the gear is BOP too. It's not like we're going to flood guild traders with gold/purple Moondancer jewellery that only a select few can obtain. We're going to vendor most of it for 68 gold. At least that is better than giving us white and green loot.

Sigh, I guess we gotta get good at hard mode and farm that.

yeah Ori , let's do the hard mode..

two weeks later: "Once per week, Hard Mode Rakkhat will award ONE Gold-quality jewelry set piece. Subsequent Hard Mode victories will have a reduced chance (10% maybe?) to award ONE Purple-quality set piece"

Well, the answer is fill the leaderboard with 7 alts, but thats a *** up situation. I tried to explain my opinion here:

    Haha Shalli!

Another reason why I don't think there should be a cool down on the loot from vMOL: not everyone has a million alts to farm it on weekly. I have 2 V16 characters that I get onto weekly. I know people who have more than 8 (two accounts) and get them on weekly. I don't mind that they can get more weekly drops - kudos to them if they are talented enough with all classes and roles to manage it.

But then people like me who basically only play 1 character, yet are capable of farming vMOL, are not rewarded for it. My friend who has 8 characters on the weekly but cannot clear vMOL may get all the Moondancer he wants. I will clear vMOL multiple times a week, get 1 gold jewellery on my first try then multiple clears with ZERO loot.

    Unacceptable.

Maybe the horrible RNG on Endgame Gear like Scathing Mage, Monster Sets or vMSA Weapons and the Cooldown on Loot is Zenimaxs Way to get rid of the complaining Raiders that allways want a new challenging Raid once a Year, so they can invest more Time into the 9. new Skin for a Horse and nice repeatable Quests in good looking but permanently crashing Zones.
If that was the Intention behind it, it worked fine *Sarkasm off*

I mean, I'd prefer more than once per year...maybe twice.
