Molag Kean - Only for magicka?!

So I got a nice 2 piece of divines kena recently and I've been playing around with it. My main concern is that weaving with a staff/DW as a magicka user, allows you to proc it (by weave I mean light attack >spell>light attack >spell), Whilst weaving with a MELEE weapon, does not. I think this is needs to be addressed, the set allows for overload to work with stamina AND magicka based builds, so why is proccing it 10x easier for magicka users? Lets look at some examples. You are in the arberitum distric, just chillen, then you see another nightblade. You make your observations:

You are a stam blade, 2H/bow, wearing 5 hundings, 2keena, 3 agility and a maelstrom weapon
Your foe is a magicka nightblade, assume they are in 5 julianos, 5 vicious death and maelstrom staff.

You both mark each other, preventing stealth play.

You ambush on your enemy, weaving light attacks with suprise attacks, your kena set will NOT PROC
Enemy nightblade weaves light attacks with concealed weapon, his/her kena set DOES proc

Enemy night blade now has an absurd amount of damage, shoots you with his pewpew's and you bend over and take it.


Dont even get me started on how unfair this is in PVE, it makes obtaining this set POINTLESS for pve, you lose DPS by constantly having to light attack, cancel the swing, light attack again, then weave instead of just weaving if you were magicka based.

I would like to hear your opinions on this, as I think its just another reason why stamina classes are again not as efficient or effective.

I found it useful only for overloading sorcs or werewolves and may be for magblades. Otherwise i would use only 1 piece or something else.

2 piece looks nice but as with all other monster sets it's horrible for 99%. Just be happy Kena has a good 1 piece, something other sets don't have.

It's not supposed to proc LA-spell-LA. This is s bug that was supposed to be fixed with thieves guild launch but wasn't. It's only supposed to proc on 2 consecutive light attacks but some spells you can sneak in between.

Therefore, a magicka user with DW (from your above example) is actually using melee weapons to proc Keanu Reeves. If it procs for them then it should also proc for stam DW users...or am I just missing something???

In this case it doesn't procc. But you can procc it with LA-->wrecking blow -->LA or LA-->Poison injection-->LA (i think other bow abilities work too). So there are some possibilities to procc it with a stambuild.

I'm not crazy about proccing Kena on my Stamblade. It's already hard enough to maintain stamina while you dodge roll, CC break and attack so increasing the cost of your abilities doesn't seem like that much of an attractive option.

I tried using Kena with WW before and while I was able to proc the set in WW form, it seemed to bug WW form into ending prematurely. I had a semi-full WW meter and it just crapped out on me while I was in the middle of the feeding animation. I think WW form has an internal time limit that prevents 100% WW time and kena sped up that process.

First of all, Kena is not a pvp set. The 33% higher costs will kill you if your enemy is experienced enough to survive your first assault.
For pve stam builds you could use it in theory (it "works" with bow skills as well as with wrecking blow), but ressource management will be much harder for you than for a magicka build who benefits from elemental drain and siphon spirit.

I use 2pc kena on my stamplar. Of course I'm very selective when I proceeded it however, if I do proceeded it, I use bow, light attack x2, javelin, critical rush, light attack, jabs as a quick burst. Otherwise I'll only use it when I'm a ww.

If you are running stam build with DW (which you should since it gives u the highest weapon power possible), kena is a bad idea. Throw some dots like scorched earth, rearming trap + poison injec and flurry (which is also a DOT) and run double valkyns. You can even slot caltrops. (even more DOTS if you are a DK). It will net you higher DPS without the gimped costs from kena.
