Dungeon Finder

Maybe i have been very unlucky but i have yet to get into a group using the dungeon finder that has even gotten past the first boss...sometimes not even the first pull. Terrible terrible dungeon finder....

World of Warcraft (for all its faults) still has the best dungeon finder in the mmorpg business. 1 tank, 3 dps and a healer...all you need..ESO should not even allow a group to form unless ALL roles have been fulfilled, yet i keep getting put in groups with no tanks (V3 and have yet to see an actual TANK in the game)

Pathetic!

All future mmorpgs...here is a formula to follow

Look at WoW's Dungeon Finder > Copy it > put it into your game > Success

You have been really unlucky. I use the dungeon finder everyday and get both pledges done. Chin up my friend. Look for a guild?

    Edit - I'm a tank

Why don't you roll one then?

    Lol.
Feel your pain! Although I feel you have been very unlucky.
Every now and again, a good party does form.
Its very much a human problem here I think. You may find a sorc using a bow and staff tagged as a tank, who cant or simply doesnt pull enemies, or a templar tagged as a healer who attacks with no heals equiped.
The freedom to pick your roles and change them as you change your mind and style of play, is a good thing.
But unfortunately its something that can bring error of judgement.

I also note people who dont like to wait, just pick all 3 roles, with no intention of filling at least 2 of them. Just to increase their chances to join a party.

If you get a frustrated as me with this then I totally sympathise.

    You on console?

I use the finder daily. I am a DPS so it ranges from 5-60+ minutes to find a group.

I would say 80% of the dungeons are finished (excluding the Imperial city dungeons). But the other 20% is usually due to a DPS queuing as either a healer or tank.

I used to queue in as DPS before and was tired of long wait times and dreadfully terrible tanks. My solution? Make a tank and do it myself. Since then, almost instant dungeon groups and flawless runs on that character. It's fun learning to play all the roles so we can appreciate people who do do them well.

Key part of your ease is that you're a tank. I tank and find groups within a minute or two. People who have trouble finding groups are set to DPS. That's the reason people can never get into a group so they just set themselves as something they're not, find a group fast but then groups they join aren't able to get anything done.

Is the XP still pathetic in the dungeons? Cause that's the only reason I don't queue my tank anymore for dungeons. I don't need a helmet. And I'm on console, so listening to some ****tard yell at me for tanking improperly isn't my idea of fun. Even when I am skilled and equipped to tank, and I think I'm doing a decent job, the people on console are just...well...**** ****** ******.

Make a tank. Don't even need to level anything. Respec your current toon. You can find a build online.

There's a market of sorts to this group content. Tanks and healers are in much shorter supply. I play all roles (on different characters) but typically use the LFG on my tanks and get almost instant groups. If you're tired of waiting, roll a tank. Or get in an active PvE guild and run with guildies.

That said, DDs are a dime a dozen, and since it seems to be the default role chosen by all players, many aren't really up to snuff. You're going to get many groups where the DDs don't understand the concept of staying you of the red, block casting when taking damage, or AoE.

@FortheloveofKrist If you run a random dungeon (via group finder) you get some extra loot plus about 100k experience if it's a veteran. You can get that once per day, per character. There's still bonus XP and loot to be had for any more random dungeons you run that day but it's less.

Oh, okay. Thanks. That's good to know. Maybe I'll run one tonight and see how it goes!

I have 2 vet tanks and love the tank role but even though I get into a random dungeon inside a minute every time I queue solo, it still doesn't guarantee a completion. As these are pretty much pure tanks, if the rest of the group is lacking in their skills we can still fail, especially in the more DPS dependant dungeons. I don't get a lot of vet dungeons done (and undaunted gold keys) because of this.

I am on PS4 NA, so if anyone is looking for a tank feel free to look me up, psn is also disintegr8.
