Holidays?

Does ESO have any holiday events? like Halloween and Christmas? i know that does not fit in at all from a lore perspective but i love holiday events in mmorpgs (mainly WoW)

Halloween there was a costume. That's about it.

There are no Christmas or Halloween events but there are some of their equivalents in the lore and we had a few of them so far in the game. For example, there was the Heart's Day celebration when Rings of Mara were on sale (kind of Valentine's Day). There was also the Witches Festival which is an equivalent to Halloween. But there is no Christmas-like event in the lore since it's connected with a specific religion and there is no place for that in the lore.

ive heard the dev's want to eventually do holiday events, but its not a priority at the moment.

they do put up crown store items on the holidays, but i dont count those......even though i love my zombie horse

Thanks for the info all. i hope someday we will be able to kill the headless horseman and save Metzen the deer (different name of course lol) in Elder Scrolls Online ^_^

Unless you consider CS items for sale "events".. no.

I will note that the stuff offered is normally pretty cool (like the zombie horse and Halloween costumes), but not everyone will partake or be interested.

I'm patiently waiting/hoping for holidays. If they don't come soon(ish).. I'm afraid I'll have to go visit some other MMOs temporarily during certain holidays just to get in my holiday "fix." I think ESO could do an incredible job with holiday events.. they just need to "get er' done." I'm not a huge lore person, but as I understand it.. the lore would support all the main holidays. So ESO.. let's gogogogogogo!!!

People would probably make a stink over having xmas, easter and what not events anyways.

I see your point, about the possibility of some not happy with the concept of a holiday etc.. but, couldn't those who don't want to have a holiday event just not participate in it and let the rest of us have some holiday fun?

i mean WoW has deep lore as well and they seem to get around the issue. Maybe give us the holiday events but at the end of the event they go "Men in Black" on us and wipe our characters mind and wipe the holiday from history...it would let us have holidays and keep lore intact.

Of course, but you've seen the sensitivity level of our society as of lately, I'm not sure if ZOS wants to put up with it at this point. lol

But I could be wrong.

I'm all for holidays. Tamriellic holidays, not our world's holidays.

Witches Festival instead of Halloween, Saturalia and Old/New Life festivals for the end of the year's festivities, this kind of thing. Tamriel has a lot of festivals that could be included in the game.

They don't really get around it though. More like, completely ignore all lore temporarily to celebrate these things and go back to normal in a week or so. I am definitely all for celebrating Tamrielic specific holidays. Completely against any real world ones that aren't found in the lore. I'll get my real world holiday fix in the real world.

If they are an American company then we might get something for the 4th of July.

Think that's it for holidays up until autumn, unless they make up a holiday for us
