Weird flying shield with heavy armor

Any idea why this shield (Xivkyn I think) is sticking out so far from the character's back?
It looks weird, not right.
It's a very tall male character with a prominent chest and heavy barbaric armor.

Lightninvash✭✭✭✭✭it probably does the same thing when you hold it too and it isn't on your back. there are a lot of floating armor pieces especially shoulders.
