Missing Steam CD Keys upon returning to ESO after a break from the game?

I follow the Steam Forums and have noticed over the last while several people commenting that after taking an extended break from ESO they no longer have a CD Key code in their billing history and can not access the game. Even trying to resubmit the steam code they were given hails no positive results as they get the error of wrong code.

One person discovered that some how they had created 2 accounts when first playing but didn't release this while others claim that it is their only account.

I am wondering if this is an epidemic and if indeed this is the case of user malfunction or if ESO has does something intentionally or accidently to remove these CD Key codes.

I would like some solution, advice or even a reason this may happen to pass onto those affected that have bought ESO through Steam and have posted on the steam forums.

So there was an article over a year ago about Steam keys....
Id go back to that info and then contact support if that information is not something that resolves the issue.

    Thank you.

Even though I have no issue with this I do wish to pass onto those affected any info I can.

What I take from the link you provided is

At some point ESO said enough is enough to possible stolen or misused key codes and may have accidently deleted valid codes but people can still get back their access by submitting an ESO ticket. they probably also got an email stating such but probably ignored it and do not remember receiving the email.

    the explanation works for me.

    thanks again.
