Jewelcrafting?

One thing I like about this game is that you can craft armor/weapon sets in whatever style and trait you want and still be relatively competitive if the RNG gods don't favor you with the right BoP gear. However you can't craft rings and amulets and although the jewelry sets are BoE and can be sold(not sure if all can), it would be cool if we could craft our own sets of jewelry using the current set bonuses or maybe new craftable 3-piece bonuses just for rings and amulets.

Has ZOS ever said anything about jewelcrafting?

Jewelry crafting would be way too OP. I'd craft a set to use with both TBS and Julianos together and wreck everything.

As awesome as it would be, it would ease rng too much on sets like briarheart and others that rely on keeping grinding over, and over. So of course ZOS would be against it. Lame.

The thing about jeweler crafting line... there isn't enough meat to it right now. I mean, just rings and amulets? Not exactly looking like a viable crafting line with two things to craft compared to six for woodworking and fourteen for the others...

But, that could be fixed, just by thinking up things to craft. I always wanted an alternate option then staves to destruction and restoration magic... so, add some sort of "Spell Focus", a mystic item that is held in the left hand, while the right makes mystic gestures over it to cast the usual destro/resto spells, depending on racial style those could be holy symbols, ornate spellbooks, gilded scepters, meditation crystals, gemmed skulls, shaman rattles... sounds right up a jewellers alley, and brings the initial things to craft up to six, just like woodworking...

Then of course... there could be more jewelry pieces. Possibly replacing armor pieces for a choice between protection and speical effect... Circlets/crowns for the head slot. bracers/bracelets for the arm slot... that sort of thing.

    Bing, viable jewelry crafting.

Would we have to get a jewelry motif of each style or would there only be one type of jewelry to craft?

As others have said, it would be way too overpowered if they used current sets. In fact, they changed it a good while back to this 5 item system giving the set bonus. Before, I think it was a only required to have I think 3 for the set to be complete? I forget. Either way, that opened the way to having multiple set bonuses all at once. To add jewellery into this system would just put us back there which was changed for a reason, even before we had all these bigger sets like Twice Born Star.

That said, I would address your second suggestion of making jewellery have their own sets as not being as bad but I am unsure of just how great it would turn out. Probably badly, knowing the track record so far with introducing sets.

Already, there is a hidden value in every jewellery item that has a motif style. EG: You can get an orc ring, Breton ring, etc etc. But obviously in the way it is now, they're inconsequential as they all look the same. Especially since you can't actually see these items on a player character when worn like armour.

Eh it's one of those "be nice be bad" things.

Nice- have 2 full 5pc sets active or other form of combos.
Bad- having all those sets active at once. Such as seducer and LoJ or and forbid this but VD and LoJ.

Like I want it but same time I don't

Does anyone have a link to them saying that jewellery crafting is planned or otherwise in discussion? I like to think that I'm usually up to speed on what may or may not be happening in the future, but this one keeps cropping up and any proof has eluded me.

I am certain it has been touched upon in an ESO live here and there but I believe it was merely regarded as "Something we've talked about internally". Neither confirmed nor denied, just mentioned that the idea has crossed by many of them internally. Which ESO lives specifically, down to minute:second time point though I'm afraid I cannot be of help. Perhaps someone else can be. Unfortunately I believe Twitch doesn't allow indefinite saving of old broadcasts though and the last time I heard with my own ears a mention from ZOS about it was a good good long while ago. It was something buried beneath the talk of spell crafting going the way of the dodo for an idea.

Jewlry crafting is something that will likely not happen. Consider they mentioned bringing it into the game 2 years ago it's a stretch to think they're working on it.

Zos has problems backing up their comments.

Their vision has always been kinda hazy to non existent.

    Their planning is a joke.

To avoid spellcrafting being too over powered, why not just make craftable jewelry sets be their own sets? No Julianos jewelry, krags, etc..
3 piece jewelry sets of their own kind.
Some can be for recovery, SD, resistance, whatever.... it's totally plausible.

This would be no different than wearing Willpower jewelry or whatever.. right? So not sure if it would be a huge deal.

and as far as not having enough to craft, every one would want crafted jewelry, so I don't think there will be a shortage of work any time soon. This would probably decrease the high costs of good jewelry(looted) pieces as well, since they(jewelry) would be more common to acquire.

I think jewelry making should be added to game. It unfair to have drop sets with jewelry but no option to craft jewelry sets too. If your not a crafter hire one or grind a set but same token have option to craft too.

It was talked about a long time ago as something they would like to do someday. The exact phrase eludes me, but was more or less a "yeah, maybe one day we will get to it."

Obviously, this couldn't include current craft able sets. But still would be fun and useful.

Maybe one day we will get a crafting update. Things I would like to see:
    1) Trait stones. Reevaluate and replace current ones to more desirable ones.
    2) Craft able jewelry sets.
    3) Ability to change traits on existing equipment.
    4) Ability to change Styles. Perhaps even be able to use previous tiers looks with higher tier materials.
    5) Ability to add a second enchantment.
    6) Ability to add an additional 5 set bonus to an item.

Make a new skill tree called master crafter and level it up in a similar way to Thieve's Guild line.

    Well... idk.

Atm I do have 2 active 5-piece setboni at any time (using two 1H weapons). One drop set (including 2 pieces of jewelry) and one crafted set (to get the "5 pieces of a kind"- passive bonus) ...

Sooo... I don't think beeing able to craft two 5-piece setboni would introduce to powerfull setups. IMHO it would support a wider diversity in builds and carter special builds as well.

Yes, there are a few that can have 2 5-set. But there is limited pieces available in the sets with jewelry options. This limits the scope a bit and makes it more controllable. With any crafted able to be made into jewelry, the possibility of imbalance gets significantly higher.

It would not. If 2-5 PC would be op we would not have jewelry as part of the new trial gear.

The only reason we so not have jewelry crafting is because Zos devs are lazy. My belief is Firor has been the weak link.

One of the biggest reasons for crafting jewelry are 1. To have craftable sets of value to that of drop sets 2. Fill in missing pieces of a style set (ex. You some pieces of drop or crafted set in glass but the set needs 5 pieces most hate mixing styles after all hard work crafting a nice look)

Solutions add jewelry making OR allow to right an item to change to any style that you have learned (automatically bounds item) as we can do with imperial style

You know you can use Julianos and alchemist now right? You have 7 armor pieces, I have 4 CA and 3 Julianos, CA staff and Julianos DW. Just drink the potions on your staff bar and switch back to DW for massive damage.

But on topic, they shouldn't be craftable. Jewellery at the moment is something you have to work for, (grind sewers) or fork out a lot of gold for. This is something to aim for at endgame level, would be so crap is everyone could just make it.

I am all for buffing crafting, like changing traits and such, but jewelry crafting would be bad for the game I think. There would be no need for any dropped gear. 5 julianos/Hundings and 5 TBS would be pretty much impossible to beat, and everyone would have it. I like that jewelry is something that takes work to acquire. I could probably get on board with a way to upgrade jewelry through the blacksmithing line for trait and quality, but I am not sure this game needs a ring of twice born star.
