I'll be a walking target if I do so, and I know my nightblade is pretty squishy. I'll basically be giving the achievement away for free. I made my nightblade have very high damage, but low recovery. Whereas with my Templar I can handle multiple people being on me (decent/good recovery and sustain, but low/moderate damage), and I'm not rolling alone as one.
The funny thing is that my nightblade (captain grade 1) has a higher alliance rank than my Templar (first sergeant grade 2).

Man who cares if it would make getting an achievement easier that doesn't even matter. You really going to lose sleep or something over someone getting an achievement off killing you? Eventually lots of people are going to have that rank anyways so its going to be easy regardless.
I would really like to have it on new characters because then it would be less of a grind to get the skill points associated with rank. Grinding is just really annoying to me and any way to reduce it is good id say.
This is the same logic as a kid receiving his army officer father's rank by association.
PvP rank shows commitment to a single character. Embrace that.
WHAT?!! We would all have to still get the rank on at least one of our characters, what are you going on about? Wait are you being sarcastic? oh.......... my bad its kinda hard to tell on the internet lol.Returning to point out that this stupid suggested change is just another way carebears want to dumb down the game and make all the accomplishments easy to get. Let the hardcore PvP and PvE players keep some things worth working for. Good grief.

No, I really don't see the comparison with that. I mean this is a video game and you are trying to compare it to real life. It isn't any weirder then sharing cps between characters. All my new characters have tons of cp they didn't earn, yet there they are for some mystical reason.

It's an mmo. Parts of it are structured to mimic real life. It's called immersion, and no matter how much we all joke about "omg you're breaking my immershunz," we wouldn't enjoy mmos without it. If you don't like that, then you're playing the wrong genre.
"Hey guys, let's develop a military war in our game, but let's not model it after real life war at all." -- said no video game dev ever.
CPs are account wide to reward the player for overall play experience. This was communicated as their purpose when they were implemented.
Alliance War rank is specific to the character in order to indicate each character's individual contributions to the Alliance War, just like individual members of the military. This was communicated as its purpose when the game launched. Hardcore PvPers are recognized for their ranks on their main characters, and for having multiple high ranked characters (which is really hard to accomplish and takes a lot of time and commitment).
