So, I managed to get a stamina NB to VR13 during this cake thing. My play time limits me so I’m not sure how much longer it will be before VR16.

I’d like to start PvP’n NOW though. Keeping in mind my level and that I'm wanting to try a primary bow stamina NB, how would you temporarily equip? I have something in mind at VR16 but am looking for some crafted items (or other easy to get stuff) I guess that will allow me to have a little pvp fun with a bow build. I will be both solo and in groups.

Thanks for any input!

Just get in and play. As for gear purple Hundings and/ or Night Mother's will be fine. No you won't wreck the best players, but you'll be surprised how well you'll be able to hold your own with relatively common gear.

The best thing is to get in and see how the play is different from PvE. Being good at PvP is a lot of L2P. Also with AP you can buy gear from the Cyrodiil vendors.

    Are you a vamp?

If vamp, go 5 hundings 3 night's silence

Max out your weapon dam and stamina. Try and get some jewelry that has boost to stam and weapon dam.

    If you're not a vamp go 5 night's silence 3 hundings.

Don't use any gold mats, purple is fine.

2H bar is your buff bar with rally, camo hunter, relentless, mirage

    Switch to bow bar

Learn to load up a heavy attack and shoot it NOT by letting go of the mouse button but by hitting poison arrow.

    Have fun :)

VR16 NB, Stam build, Max all crafts.

Azuras & Trueflame. Mostly PvP, No alts.

Semi-retired till the lag is fixed.

Love the Packers, Bourbon, and ESO...one of those will eventually kill me.

    Thanks!

So, hundings and NS. I am a vamp. What jewelry would you recommend? Is there a 3 piece VR13'ish jewelry set that would be good to get? Pvp vendor or otherwise?

Oh, in addition to my question about the jewelry (above), what bow specific skill would you use (on a bow build)?

I was thinking on my bow bar: rally, venom arrow, focused aim, arrow barrage, and maybe Magelight?

You might find some Agility pieces at VR10 to VR13. Other than that, Sustain is a big thing in PvP,. There are two ways to help with that, Cost Reduction or Regen Buffs. I am not sure if one is really better than the other, so it might behove you to try both. Find some Robust Jewlery and put your own Glyphs on them, try Cost Reduction first (as that works better for me) then try Regen Buffs. Once you figure out what works for you, then try swapping out the glyphs for weapon damage glyphs.

Also, in the Champion Point system, Mighty is your friend, put all the points you can into that.

Also, to throw a total wrench into the works, you might be better off as a Magic NB being a Vamp. And, the other thing to remember, lots of people use Camoflaged Hunter in PvP to wreck Vamps. So, keep that in mind as you go. Try the Stamblade first, but keep in mind you might change some things up if you find your self on the losing end of things too often.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Rally is 2H specific.

So you have a buff bar of rally, relentless, and camo hunter.

    Bow bar has
Poison Arrow, concealed strike, dark cloak, ambush, and killers blade. (seriously).

Your range attacks are weaving heavy attacks with poison arrow. All those other arrow abilities aren't too good IMO for PvP or PvE.

You'll have success taking players out with your buffs up, in stealth, with a fully charged heavy attack and poison arrow. repeat that, or if close enough, finish them with an ambush followed by a heavy attack / concealed weapon attack...then killers blade.

Otherwise keep distance and tag players, get the AP when they die, or just keep shooting them, dark cloak when trouble hits.

Jewerly - You're V13, and will be V16 soon, don't spent much on it. Juust get some non-set stuff....or if you're lucky, could land some marksmen rings/necklace from rewards.

Other option is to burn AP on VR14 bags to get shadow walker jewelry...but, you'll eventually want an agility set, so save your coin!

If I were you, I'd jump in trials and try to get the ophidian jewelry. It'll go well with your light/heavy attack weaving with poison arrow at VR13.

Poisonous Serpent from Trials is indeed suddenly a wonderful option.

I just started my v2 NB bow/2H on PvP and I totally agree with the advice that you need to play just to get a feel for the difference of it vs. PvE.

I started out doing solo PvE and then a few scouting missions. Any enemy encounters got me quickly killed.

I found that grouping up with others upped my survivability quite a bit. I still die quite a few times but also do my share of killing. I only got better by learning how different it is to PvE.

Also, don't be afraid of running away when you need to. ;)

In PvE Bow does work... could be more epic but it gets teh job done...
In PvP Bow does awesome ganking if you're spec'd right, and it also can be used to pick off stray newbz and annoy zergs.

In my old gank setup i had a Buff bar, with Caltrops, double take, cloak, vigor and Rally, ultimate was a random. Then in the bow bar i'd go Venom Arrow, Snipe, fear, silver bolt, camo hunter, flawless dawnbreaker. Snipe spam on normal people, and heavy attack + silver shards on a vamp. Either way, an easy kill on people horse riding or busy taclking a DK or whatnot. I had, and still use for some reason, 5/5 hundings, and 3/5 Ashen grip

Which Poison Arrow morph is preferred in PvP? Venom Arrow or Poison Injection?

One other piece of advice, if you are completely new to Pvp and Cyrodiil is to join a guild that does a lot of pvp, and invest in at least a set of headphones and download TeamSpeak (or whatever client they use, but TeamSpeak seems to be the most popular). Trying to really learn Pvp by just pugging and trying to chat in game is probably not the most productive way to go about it. You will probably eventually want to get a headset with a mic so you can at least ask questions, and/or give alerts to your team mates. But definitely listen way more than talk at first. Of course a lot of guilds do engage in idle banter.

I haven't played PVP and am interested so may give it a try, thank you for asking the question as it has been informative.
I have a V15 Imperial NB that leans heavily on the bow. It works great solo, and I am still working on my play style in groups.

What I find effective in PVE is the following:
For distance - Stealth, Camo Hunter slotted, Piercing Mark and Focused Aim. Except for bosses, that will usually drop an NPC with 2, sometimes 3 shots, sometimes 1 if all my stars are in alignment at that moment.
For groups - Stealth, Arrow barrage (repeatedly & timing the shots) and if one gets too close use Draining Shot to put them back where I want them and then back to Arrow barrage.

I have tried the different various enchantments and have settled on carrying two bows, both Purple. The first is Poison since it works on just about everything and sometimes reduces the Bow Shots by one shot. and the second is Prismatic for Daedra and the UnDead. My Critical hit chance sits at about 70%. As long as I can pick my spot, time it when I choose and have room to move, it's almost infallible. For everything else, as long as I remember to keep moving, (I tend to focus and forget about that) there is Dual wield and the appropriate skills.

I don't know how this would work for PVP, since I haven't done that, but it works well for me in PVE and at some point I would like to try PVP. In groups it's mostly me having to keep track of others and remembering to move that trips me up.
