Empowering Chains --- Work as intended ?

Empowering Chain is the only gap closer which cannot "gap close" player who is dodge rolling, and it makes Magicka DK's life more complicated. Should the chain being dodgeable and waste users' magicka again and again cos every stam dps in cyrodiil use dodge as defence , or the chain needs rebuild and work like ambush, crit rush, topping charge so enemy can dodge the dmg from chain but the chain still pull yourself to target.

if u watch some magicka dk builds, u will find most of them run S/B invasion or they just use vampire drain/fossilize and give up on the DK s**t self gap closer.

So, would u prefer the Empowering chains get fix or is it just working as intended ?

It was just bad wording of the poll question, if you read the OP he explains that he just wants the gap closer to close the gap even if dodged.

Yeah, even the other version needs to be reworked, as it stands now you still lose magicka if you fail because the enemy player is dodge rolling, so we need to have our magicka refunded as well if they dodge.

All that doesnt matter though if they dont fix the ridiculous height restrictions chains have and the fact that it glitches 5 times out of 10 so it doesn't work even if the target is right in front of you.

They must close the gap even when the target is dodging the damage.

And indeed, that ridiculous height restriction must go. Just make it work like spambush. Or shield charge. I DON'T CARE. JUST MAKE IT WORK.

I'm so used to chains failing 19 out of 20 attempts with or without the target in dodge roll.

But the chain always has a spot on my bar anyways. Gotta love chains when it works!

I dont like the idea of buffing zergs furthermore by allowing them to pull everything into their middle for instant killing without any chance to avoid it.

There is a difference between charging to an enemy or into an enemy group and pulling someone into your own group. In the first case you take the risk, in the second the other player has zero chance without you risking anything.

The game is already belanced towards zerg groups. These dont need another buff.

It can easily be solve the same as Ambush. If target is NPC, Ambush will stun it, if target is a player, Ambush can only snare them. They can make chain always pull you to the target if target is a player. Also, target can dodge the damage, but the chain should still pull you to them, just like any other gap closers. The problem with chain right now is: it cost magicka, but does nothing.

It punisihing zergers as they pulling themsleves out of thier swarm. Got funny moments of that when several seconds were enough to kill such zerger and than run away from his incoming swarm . :*

Well, if the target dodge the chain should still grip on the ground where the target was and pull you there.

Ambush you Telepart to the Target, Crit charge, Shield Assault you run to the target. Toppling Charge, WW leap and DK Leap you jump to toward the target all have the something you aim and move toward the person.

With chains you pull them to you or yourself to them but they need a target to grab hold of.

In a world where people call meteors from outer space with the wiggle of their fingers and grow giant wings out of their back to jump incredible distances, i don't think 'rational physics' needs to be a factor when talking ability balance.

All gap closers are different, I agreed.
Chain give you Major Expedition, refund magicka or give Empower.
Crit Charge crit or slow target.
    Shield Charge stun target.
Ambush ignore terrain, have no min range, slow and DoT or Empower (the most OP gap closer, hand down).
Templar Charge AoE, interrupt or stun.

But, BUT, the KEY effect, the MAIN reason they're called a GAP CLOSER, is that they close the gap between you and the target, no matter if other side effects like damage or stun can be avoid with dodge or Immovable, the main effect is gap closing should-still-work.

I don't ask for the damage of it to be un-dodge-able, I just ask for it to close the gap between you and the target even if it's dodged, just like every other gap closers.

They finally fixed the Templar gap closer and I think the NB gap closer to get rid of the last two holdout gap closers that were undodgeable.

Please, hell no don't introduce another undodgeable gap closer after you just fixed the last two.

I hardly see gap closer that not working in 70% of casts as fixed. And OP asking not about make it undodgeable but to pull caster to target even if cast was dodged, like any other gap closer.

Ambush had no DoT or Snare you just added the effects both morphs Ambush has Empowered and can use stealth bonus. Lotus Fan has a AoE snare and a DoT but can't get a stealth bonus. Ambush is great but the Stun from One Hand and Shield is better.

Did you notice the "or" word? I KNOW they are 2 different morphs just can't remember the name of the unmorph skill. The most OP thing of, ok I'll call it "NB gap closer", is that it ignore terrain, ignore root, have no min range.

I hate chains with a passion 90% of the time they don't work, but that's OK if we select the morph that gives use the magicka back for it not working it's all good LOL. The other gap closers for the other classes are so much better than chains it's crazy, Basically If i want to gap close with my mag DK then i have to use Invasion/crit rush etc and drain my already low stamina all because my magicka gap closer doesn't work if the height terrain has changed a little, Saying that Invasion sometimes refuses to work when well within range as well with the latest patch (but then it doesn't take my stamina), Then again being mainly a DK it seems a lot of the Dk skills don't work properly.
