Stam Nightblade DoT Build

This thread is mostly to get the community's thoughts about a stamina NB DPS build based around DoT's. Front bar would be dual wield with Maelstrom daggers. Skills would be flurry (considered a dot and affected by thaumaturge), rending slashes, hidden blade for major brutality, and maybe a class based DoT from siphoning even if it's magicka based. Back bar would be maelstrom bow with acid spray, caltrops, scorched earth, merciless resolve and siphoning strikes. Build play would go something like switching to bow and putting down all of the bow DoTs, then back to the front bar to put down rending slashes and flurry combo. When you get low on stamina you can switch to bow with super fast light attacks and proc siphoning attacks and merciless resolve light attacks combo wile regaining stamina. CP distribution would be 100 thaumaturge/67 mighty and whatever the steed and thief the player prefers. Gear would probably be 2pc Valkyn Skoria and 5/1/1 medium with hundings and agility jewelry. Considering briarhearts 5 pc instead of Valkyn Skoria but that would be missing out on a lot of free damage from the DoT procs.

If you're using DW, you can actually run 5 briar, 5 hundings AND both valkyn pieces, also I'd suggest running poison injection if you're running a bow dot build
Edit: nevermind, forgot about the maelstrom.weapon thing.

A really interesting build idea. I have some random thoughts and a genuine hope that you come back and tell us how this goes.

Briarheart sounds good, as each critical you get on a dot would heal you, and as a nightblade you will get a lot of crits, so most of the time you will have more of a buff to weopan damage than running hundings.

If you can afford it, consider trying this with the new Svarra's scales gear, as I believe it can proc off dots, and as it is poison damage it would benefit from your champion points too. I believe the evil hunter skill also procs off dots, so with so many ticks you might get a fair bit of stamina back that way. Maybe I'm making this into a gimmick build, but I like the idea that your dots could be accompanied by meteors, poisonous spit and whatever evil hunter does.

Do let us know if you try this!

if you are thinking of adding a magicka dot to your dual wield bar then consider using lotus fan, as it will give you a gap closer and applies an aoe dot. The damage will be terrible compared to normal spambushing, but it will activate the Hemorrhage passives meaning your crits hit harder.

It means you could have as many as 7 dots on one target at one time while having 4 dots on a group!

    1. Don't use magicka-DoTs on a Stambuild...they only lower your dps.
    2. usefull DoTs on a Stamblade are: scorched earth, poison injection, caltrops, rending slashes, axe-bleed (dw passiv), maybe acid spray in AoE fights)
    3. CP destribution: never put more points in thaumaturge than in mighty/ele-expert, it's a damageloss. (nearly) everything scales with mighty, but not everything scales with thaumaturge (light attacks, skoria, assassins will, maybe some initial hits)
    4. Use potions for max-dps

good luck with your build, it can work :)

Tested already. Even with Maelstrom Flurry buff, magicka DoTs are useless. Gotta use Maelstrom Flurry to buff Rending Slashes and Poison Injection. (The only 2 single target DoTs you have.)

Would note that while I haven't been able to master the weaving of this build (everything including bloodspawn dies way too fast) the top stamblade DPS builds don't seem to incorporate this in at all. (I can't hit those numbers yet, but maybe one day!)

Also worth noting, Maelstrom Flurry buffs Soul Assault from the Soul line(big blue cheesus beam). It is possible to get over a 90-100k tooltip value for it. I think even with that, Meteor is still a better PvE DPS ult.

Sheila Feyrondas - Magicka Dragonknight Tank (Frost staves are gonna be fun!)

I would use the nightblade skill power extraction (opposite morph of sap essence) for the buff instead of hidden blade bc it lasts for 20 seconds compared to 10 seconds.

You think you'll get more benefit from the Maelstrom daggers than from just dual-wielding axes?
