Why does vampirism have only 2 active skills while the werewolfs have so many?
I became vampire yesterday but got a bit of a sad face when i saw that i only had two extra skills to apply ;(
Maybe because you can use your vampire skills without having to use your ultimate first. Just a guess, though.
But how many people do you see use those two skills as I don't , I've dropped vamp on two of my characters now as it's just not in the same league of werewolf
I've gotten some use out of Invigorating Drain for the self-heal / stun, but I'm a pretty casual player and I guess it wouldn't find use in a seriously min-maxed build. Bats is an awesome ultimate though.
I see too many Vampires in PvP, so much so that Dawnbreaker and Silver Bolts are pretty much stapled to my hotbar.
On topic, I can think of a few reason why. Originally, WW only had 2 abilities as well but because WW locked you out of all your other abilities entirely, having 2 abilities (Fear and Pounce) pretty much made them unplayable. Vampires don't have this issue because they can choice any skills they like to use alongside Vampire abilities. Vampire abilities are also always available to use, unlike WW abilities that are locked behind a a very costly ultimate.
That's also only part of the problem too. Early stages of the game, Vampire was just straight up broken. At stage 4 Vampire, you could reduce the cost of all Vampire abilities by 60%. That lead to a great many broken builds, especially with DKs constantly having Batswarm up for endless resource shenanigans. It was so broken in fact, it was MANDATORY to be a vampire for anything because there was no real downside to it. Even with the 50% extra damage from fire, a single resist fire enchant or being a Dunmer cancelled out the negates of Vampire almost entirely. As a result of this, Vampire got nerfed greatly but I feel ZOS is afraid to touch on the skill line much more than it is now to avoid the hassle of making it OP again.
