Should champion points be given for being a champion?

Currenly all you need is time and an endless supply of trash mobs or cyrodil dailies to be a champion.

Should cp seperate to cap be granted for completion of end game content.

I know xp grinders who dont endgame probably wont like this, i just find it strange to earn champion points for unskilled activity like farming cyrodil dailies. Unless we are meant to be champion grinders. The tower champion of dailies sounds pretty bad ass.

Btw this benefits me far less than true champion players.

For what it's worth the grinding is the only way for a PVP player to keep up. A normal night in Cyrodiil will get me 1 CP. An hour of grinding caves in Wrothgar can get me 7 of them with enough XP boosters. If I want to keep up in Cyrodiil this is the best way. I don't like doing quests more than once.

Nope. Someone who spends time questing, crafting, or doing other game activities has as much right to CP's as end game players.

I would say there's a better argument to be made that crafting and questing ought to reward more, not less, than grinding.

But the whole argument is silly as "Champion Points" is just a word chosen for those at "Veteran Ranks" to differentiate it from "Experience Points."

And yet what is the word for "Champion Point system passives"?

End game players mostly have done all those things as well.

Maybe they need rebranding, i dont feel like much of a champion after several hours of xp.

Or with endgame only points everyone us entitled to those points if they do the end game.

Should be called grind xp points system.

I agree crafting and qiesting should be more rewarding but in different ways a champion crafter should excel at crafting not be given combat buffs otherwise we'd all just deconstruct and craft for hours to be badass killers or healers.

Doing lots of quests should enhance reward levels for doing further quests, delves, dungeons and dolmens maybe.

Idk, I feel kinda bad as a knowing I singlehandedly endangered the saber cat species.

In all seriousness, "champion points" is just a name they took. Kinda like being miffed dragonknights gank and nightblades heal with the power of light.

But stamina sorcs are an abomination.

I wish that were the case. I've done most quests 7 times now.

Heh, I for one would love to see champion points only being given for champion-ish activities, and not for mindless grinding.

However, if I am honest, I have to admit that would be a bad idea, since it would be discriminating against the grinders.

Now I personally might think fu... uhm... forget about them, but that is because I have a personal low opinion of anyone who actually engages in mindless slaughter of mobs to gain their expees... and would love to chuckle at their wails of vexation if their grinding was nerfed thusly...
But the powers that be have decreed their game to be supposed viable for anyone, no matter how they want to play. And that includes grinders. Thus in the spirit of "live and let live", their way ought to remain a viable alternative, no matter what questor people like me think.

Each to their own, and the game itself is best served if everyone can play as they like, and get somewhere with it.

Not if it was just exclusive to "endgame" activities.

If you want CP points to be distributed based on actions completed, rather than pure XP gains, your going to have to extend it to include everything from questing to crafting to achievement hunting and not just being exclusive to 'endgame players' which only make a small percentage of the VR playerbase.

We can get rid of grinding exp rates if you boost the exp gained from playing the hardest content; Cyrodiil.

EXP is a just a mechanic of progression. If anything more things you do in game should give exp not less.
