Save king Casimir

There are a lot of enemies there. Must you kill all?

I'd suggest not saving him at all, unless you want to hear "Did you hear? Some stranger saved King Casimir's life!" over and over again for the rest of eternity :s.

If you're referring to the enemies on the lower level of the castle though, I don't believe you do; from memory they keep respawning. Just go upstairs and help the king.

Yes, I meant the enemies on the lower levels.

And about the whisper, read some strange thread about that.

Ok, so maybe I better leave it alone. Thanks!

Unfortunately I believe it's a core quest for that zone so you can't leave it alone. You'll just have to hate Covenant town NPCs like the rest of us :p.

They are constant. In the Quest tooltip it says 'Hint: Go upstairs'

When you go up stairs you will get a mini boss and complete the quest.

And if you don't go upstairs then they just keep coming at you downstairs.

Ok... So can I do the quest without saving the king?

What is a core quest? I must do it to be able to visit more areas?

Nothing in Daggerfall is an almanac quest.
Glenumbra is Beldama Wyrd Tree, Camlorn, Lion Guard Redoubt, and Cath Bedraud.

Guys, he's clearly a new player, you're just confusing him.

Saving king Casimir is a part of the main questline of Glenumbra, which in turn is part of the chain leading through all zones of the Daggerfall Covenant. I don't think this particular quest is mandatory, but it's best to complete it so you will experience the full story. You get skill points for some of these faction quests and they will eventually tie into the main story about the Prophet and Coldharbor.

Don't worry about NPC comments. Daggerfall is famous for its people shouting the strangest things on street corners, they're wonderfully quotable. Just keep saving people and enjoy the recognition. ;) Fair warning though, the ale is a lie.

    I embraced it !
My sorc is now officially King Casimir bodyguard. Officially, in my mind :D
What? Lead? Me? No, no, no. No leading. Bad things happen when I lead. We get lost, people die, and the next thing you know I’m stranded somewhere without any pants.

While saving King Casimir isn't a requirement for the almanac you should do it anyway since the quest reward does give a skill point, also you have to go upstairs after killing like 3 bad guys on the way up or something.

Yes, I am indeed a new player. Not only to ESO but to similar games aswell. Bought the game in 2014. Played a bit but didn't get hooked. Have tried a bit WoW but didn't get hooked there either.

Saw the episode of "Big Bang Theory" where they played Age of Conan. It got me thinking of this game. (and yes, it is addicting...)

Tried a bit AoC but it felt older some how.

So there are a great deal of jargon I don't get :)

I am only at level 7.

Don't worry, a lot of us came from the single player TES games and ESO was our first MMO. You will learn quickly. Welcome (back) in Tamriel! :)

As for the almanac, it's a vet rank thing. After you finish your own alliance, you'll be allowed to visit others. Cadwell's Almanac is a list of quests in each zone that you need to do in order to complete Cadwell's Silver and Gold (your second and third alliance, respectively). They're totally optional, but they're worth doing for skill points. Finishing Silver also unlocks the Soul-Shriven crafting style.

I mostly played FPS shooters before. I was actually interested in EOS because of the first person perspective. But now I mostly play using third person.

Alliances and guilds are still quite confusing.

As I understand it, you can join fightersguild and then do some quests for them?

I have been worried about choosing guilds. What if I choose the wrong one? Can I choose many?

There are player guilds and NPC guilds.

The NPC guilds so far are: Fighters, Mages and Thieves (in the new DLC). You can join them all - and definitely should join the first two, they unlock extremely useful skills and their quests are very fun.

You can also join up to five player guilds. I would recommend joining at least one trading guild, as guild stores are the only method of selling stuff aside from shouting in zone chat. But it's not necessary, some people prefer to play it like a single player game and that's fine too. But it's easier to find people to do dungeons etc. with if you're in a guild. There's a guild recruitment section here on the forum if you're interested.

Many of us do the same thing. Third person is good for PvP and farming, when you need to keep an eye on a broader landscape, either for farming nodes or to watch out for enemies.

First person is fun for the questing and stealing and such. You may find yourself switching back and forth.

But fair warning: If you get that character to level 50, you may not play any other games for a while. A long....long....while. :)

Well, that quest is easy, but wait for being lvl 6 to do it - sneak in, head to the stairways to the right, ignoring all the rest, go up to the upper floor - it is empty at this time, but you hear the fight on the ground floor - prepare to kill - soon king Casimir and Verrik will be up - and he is your only enemy to fight then - kill him with no mercy, brutal alpha damage attack and then execute him - done - wait until you get your reward and sneak out again. That's it.

Hm, I'm at level 7 but have a hard time killing him. Is alpha damage attack when you hold in the button to hit harder?
