Which Stam Class Should I Choose?

After I level my Mag Sorc to V16 and my Mag Templar to V1 (which should be this weekend - thanks for the cake, ZOS), I want to roll a stamina build. However, I have never played a stamina class before, and I could use some help in deciding which class to choose. I will be playing a mix of PvE and PvP. I'd say either nightblade or templar, leaning towards nightblade but it depends on what you want to do.

out of all the classes, nightblade has the most passives that benefit your weapon damage and weapon skills. Nightblade also has a nice assortment of stamina ability morphs that compliment each of the weapon trees to fill gaps in their abilities, and (in my opinion) some of the best utility magicka abilities to make use of that second resource.

templar would have better survivability and self healing, but less damage potential.

I've had the most fun on stamblade, though I just started leveling my stamplar so I'm not too sure about that one. Stamblade has great passives and really useful magicka dumps in cloak, blur and fear.

What makes it MORE fun for you, specifically? I'm very interested considering that Stamplar is leading the poll by a wide margin. Others must think as you do.

I havent personally tried a stamina templar yet, but from what I hear you mainly rely on the combination of purifying ritual (which, with passives, gives you major mending for +25% healing done) combined with 2h's rally for self healing. There isnt much else for a templar that meshes well with a stamina build, and they dont have any magicka utility abilities other than heals (which 2h already gives you).

EDIT: I don't have one and I can't vote for it ( I plan to level one someday) but it seems really fun to use with all those crit heals and lightnings lol

1. Stam ..Night Blade
2. Stam ..Templar (Very close to Nightblade)
3. Stam.. Dragon Knight (My favorite and main however I might be switching totally starting tonight)
4. Stam.. Sorc (Most unforgiving stam class)

Very nice mesh with stamina atm
Nice stamina CONE aoe with snare .... great dps ....stamina ability
Nice long range stun with decent damage 40 meters ......stamina ability
Cheap Purge(magicka) with healing + healing buff for vigor
Extra damage passive
Extra block passive
Stamina recovery 10% boost for having a specific ability slotted plus is stam and health heal when used

Very nice +'s for stam builds second to only night blades

I would love to play a stamina sorc .. my favorite stam class to play in PVE

Probally Stamplar or Nightblade ... I love the playstyle of the DK but have really struggled more since the patch.. The stamplar is a similar play-style and hit hits harder... I love the purge to get rid of dots and other negitives ... I also like the healing passive buff off of that purge I like the long range stun .... With the templar I can use food much easier instead of drinks that Im forced to use with my DKs....

Someone told me this morning that Stam DKs are probably the strongest class for PvP duels. Is this true?

Yes they due to resource managment however the skill level to play a DK at that level requires you to be very good at cancelling animations. However stamplars are more forgiving for the average player due to biting jabs and the free purge... DKs rely on wreaking blow as the main dps which are easily avoided by someone that is very good..... I also like the DK resource management with sword and shield (Dueling)...

However I prefer the Two handed & Bow spec which I think Templars atm better suited.... and more forgiving then a DK.... If I equip a Sword and Board then hands down a DK and if you duel you want to go sword and shield...

Ohh yea the stamplar is just similar to my DK playstyle for me Twohanded and Bow... NB is different animal not my playstyle but I love the burst damage they can pull off however with so many people running mage light i might change my mind lol ... I like all of them ...Honestly I like the sorc play the best in PVE but its definitely the most unforgiving in PVP....

Mostly the spears on Biting Jabs and Major Mending from Purifying ritual (+25% healing done), you can also stack that with Restoring Rune armor spell (+8% healing done, -8% dmg taken). It just really scales well with Rally/Vigor. Dragon Knight will heal just as well as they also get Major Mending but I like the golden spear warrior theme.

StamSorc is my favorite Stamina variant so far. It's hard to grind out the right skill lines and passives at first, but it's really fun to play! Secondly I'd choose Stamplar, S+B is my favorite for them. StamBlade's and DKs feel more generic in play style so I'd choose them lastly. I love NB's but I love my StamSorc's more

I play a stam sorc in pve. The dps is underrated and the playstyle is my favorite of my characters.

welll they have repentance which is one of the best abilities in the game esp for stam build. its true they dont have a great magica sink because no good cc choice but that also means they always have magica to purge\purify which is another one of the best abilities in game.

also with vigor/rally/ purifying ritual giving maj mend they arguably have best self heals of stam builds

personally i like dk for stam because they have the only physical ult and the best single target cc by a long shot + lots of good magica sink choices

I'm not voting because they are all great choices - stamina builds all have a similar core playstyle.

If you want speed/mobility, go sorc. If you want great sustain and a sick physical ult, go Dk. If you want a nice ranged CC and spammable AoE melee attack, go Templar. If you want lots of hate messages and an OP insta-spam melee attack, go Nightblade.

Stamplar is a very well rounded set up. Nightblade is a fine choice as well but squishier. My preference is the stamina Nightblade because I love is pace; however the grand majority of people that play as a stamina Nightblade are terrible. On second thought maybe you should play as a stamina Nightblade. It'll change your perspective on them.

I'm still waiting to hear back from zenimax on whether or not they can restore my old templar, would really like to try out the stamina build on him. I just hate the leveling grind and dont want to start from the beginning again.
