Idea - Blood Potions

See, here's the thing... I RP. Yeah, I know. But I do. And one of my favorite characters is an adorable little bosmer vampire. Trouble is...she looks amazing at stage 1, but simply awful at stage 4. (Makes sense, lore-wise of course...the longer you go without feeding the hungrier you look).

Well...from an RP standpoint, it's a bit obnoxious to excuse yourself to go feed every 30 minutes to maintain stage 1. So I thought (and maybe it isn't a very original thought) why not have some kind of Blood Potion that can help control vampire stages? 1 potion = 1 stage. If you're at stage 4 and drink 1, you go down to stage 3. If you're at stage 4 and drink 3 potions you go down to stage 1. It could be something craft-able with alchemy, or maybe provisioning.

I am not entirely sure if it would be useful in any other aspect of the game (pvp/pve) to be able to maintain the stages. I'm not sure if there is a benefit to any builds for being able to keep your character at a specific stage. I'm only seeing this from an RPers perspective. As such I'd love some thoughts on whether or not these potions would be useful to anyone besides us nerdy RPers.

What do you think?

Not an entirely new idea. I've seen it mentioned on here before, and I agree it should be a thing. The feeding cycle either needs to be redone to add more time between stages or add blood potions, which could perhaps add more time to each stage.

From a PvEer's perspective, I can tell you this is something that would have an actual use just the same for that community as well. Stage one Vamps actually regen health. Course, you lose out on low cost bats but that may be less of an inconvenience.

From an RPer's perspective, totally with you. Sometimes excusing yourself also comes with an obligatory "vampire tax" bounty or a long journey to find some bandits to snack on.

    A great idea, OP.

Blood Potion brings me back to Skyrim: Dawnguard. Its a good idea sure it also healed you like a normal healing potion but only if you were a vampire. It was buggy apparently if you drink it when your character isn't a vampire you change into one but a glitched one.

+2 this. Yes please, yes please, and for similar reasons as OP. My vampires look amazing at stage one and want to keep their looks.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

I hadn't thought about that! Adding time to a stage would work just as well.

Yep, as long time (since Day One) "spokesperson" for my beloved vampire community, I can tell you that players have been BEGGING ZOS for a way to maintain or extend the Stage 1 appearance for 2 years now. All such pleas have fallen on deaf ears with the departed Paul Sage saying "maybe we can do something with costumes" when I asked on an old ESO Live about the possibility of vampires having a "Mortal" (as in pre-vamped) look made available so they could "hide" as several NPC vamps do and as the lore of this game SAYS they can.

My own hope I currently advocate for is this:

    1. Switch the lengths of time on Stage 1 and Stage 3. This would make Stage 1 last 90 minutes. It would not affect the overall time it currently takes to arrive at Stage 4. Therefore it would have no appreciable effect on those who prefer to keep their vampires at Stage 4, mostly for PvP. It also makes more "sense" that the longer your vampire goes without feeding the "faster" they would degenerate towards Stage 4 so making Stage 3 the shortest Stage (30 minutes) is also simply logical.

    2. Sell a Skin (think the Soul Shriven Skin that was available for awhile) in the Crown Store for vampires that allows them to look as they did when still Mortal. This is completely lore friendly and would not only make the RP community delirious with joy but would make ZOS a whole pile of $$!

Not a bad idea, but what I'd really like to see is a vampire passive that allows you to feed when people are stunned.

i had ran a suggestion a few years back about allowing you to feed on your party members with consent from them of course to reverse your vampire stages but i guess that fell on deaf ears too. since zos never did anything about it. mind you this was back when zos had a suggestion part of their help section of the game.

Oh I realllly wish they'd finish the skill line frankly. The passives (if they worked a bit better) are fine as far as I'm concerned. But I'd LOVE to see us get 3 more active skills. What skills? So glad you asked! LOL

    1. CHARM! This skill would act as a stun, lasting long enough for your character to get to position to Feed. If that is ALL you do the NPC DOES NOT AGGRO when you are done. ONLY if you follow up by doing damage does the NPC AGGRO after being charmed. This should work on "Innocents" as well and should not incur a Bounty if ALL you do is Charm and feed and walk away.

    2. FEAR! Vampires are the freaking UNDEAD! Once NPCs realize they are fighting one it MAKES SENSE that they could run off in terror! So give vampires their own Fear ability!

    3. PET! Starting with an innocuous animal like a wolf (because Dracula dammit, alright??) that you can summon just as Mages do to fight for you. Morphs would be either a Giant Bat or a Bloodfiend. I've not determined what the advantages of each morph should be but I am certain this community has MANY good ideas!

I've always wondered why stages don't change when you use the 'feed attack' (drain essence) xD

I like the idea but I think the blood alter should be a feeding spot for vamps so they can pop down one and drink when they get thirsty cus I mean it is blood after all haha.

From an RP perspective, I also wish there was some way to maintain Werewolf form, even if it is just cosmetic (like a costume). I would pay crowns for a costume that lets me look like I'm in WW form. (Even if it needs to be restricted so it doesn't work in PvP).
