Find thieves troves, take the stacks of lockpicks in them and sell those to a fence.

You'll hit max level in no time ...

Steal everything! Value doesn't matter for leveling just max out your launder and fence items every day. Rob safe boxes, pick pocket hard marks and have fun!

Okay. ive noticed the xp is the same on any items. but some items are worth more gold then others... Would you say it is worth (gold wise) to only steal high value items and well those, or to just sell any for the xp, and then make money some other way with the time i save ?

Do you have a provisioner? If so, steal provisioning mats from barrels and crates and such, launder them for XP, use them to craft food and then vendor that food. Gold + Legerdemain XP + Provisioning XP = win.

If you enjoy picking locks, go for the safeboxes at the merchant stalls and only sell the green or better loot from them. That way you can make some decent money and still hit your daily max. for both fencing and laundering.

It does not matter if the item is 1 gold, or 1500 gold, you get one tick towards leveling Legerdemain for each item you Fence or Launder.

Stealing provisioning items and laundering them is great because they are cheap to launder, they stack so you can carry a lot, and they are everywhere so there is lots to steal. Then steal other items to Fence for gold. As mentioned above, you can use the provisioning ingredients to make foods and drinks and sell those to NPC Vendors for more gold, and this really racks up when you have the passives that make more portions. I can clear 30K to 40K a week just making food and drinks and selling to vendors. Note I get most of my ingredients from Hireling mails and writs, not from stealing. I could not steal all those ingredients in a week...

No, just sell them off to vendors. Selling to players is cumbersome and not very reliable.

The best food/drinks to make for cash are the green VR10 recipes. They only require 2 ingredients but give you the most in terms of gold to mats ratio. I usually do stacks of 200 ingredients each, which nets me several thousand in gold per stack if you have the x4 passive.

Oh no, the only foods and drinks players buy are top level Purple ones. Or Foods or Drinks used for Provisioning Writs, and those are not many when they do sell. I have sold some mid and low level Purples, but not enough to bother listing them with any regularity. I just sell off my excess from the characters I am leveling.

I have a favorite merchant shop that I stand at the cooking fire, make the stuff then turn around and sell it to the vendor.

Couple things to remember, I have 6 characters doing provisioning writs and running provisioning hirelings, so I get hundreds of ingredients each week. I also use an add on that automates multiple cooking orders, if I did not have the addon, I would just sell the ingredients in the guild stores. Even then I que up the foods and drinks and leave the game alone for about 25 minutes while everything is cooked or brewed.

Cookery Wiz is what I use, but I also use Craft Store, its a nice multi craft add on for lots of things*. But it does not let me cook multiple items. However Craft Store helps me find the ingredients I have more than 200 of so I know what to cook, then I put the amounts into Cookery Wiz to make everything.

*Craft Store can track research, motifs, horse training, allow you to make multiple items like glyphs and foods, eliminates the need to scroll through all the potency runes to find what one you need for the level you are making the items for etc etc etc. Highly recommended for almost all crafting needs, but making multiple food and drink items.

As mentioned above, kill the sheep and launder their insides. The trick to avoiding the bounty is to sneak up on the shepherd and kill him outright in one hit with an ultimate or something. That doesn't always work in which case you will need to be careful about making your way back to the fence and avoiding guards for a while.

I put together a leveling guide that worked well for me. There are many ways to go about leveling Legerdemain. Something to keep in mind is that anything stolen will get you a point in Legerdemain - even if it's a stolen tomato or guts from a farm animal. Anyway, here is the guide I put together.

Wrecking blow from stealth will 1-shot most if not all NPCs and it will not give you any bounty.
