In response to the negative/argumentative thread on people not knowing how to grind (without offering suggestions) , I thought I would put up a quick post to help some newer players that don't know how and to give a few tips. I have become fairly proficient in grinding over the past several games over the years, and have compiled a lot of info in my head. Most of this is universal and doesn't apply to any one game.
1. One great thing about ESO is that you only have to "tag" the mob to get full XP. Run through a group of enemies and AOE once or twice to tag them. This gives other players a chance to get their hits in as well. Everyone gets full XP, everyone happy, no one gets mad and rages at you, follows you around just to make you mad, etc.
2. All delves are set up in a circle, so just find an empty delve at your level and run the loop. After a few rotations you will begin to memorize the time, location and number of mobs that spawn and can adjust your path accordingly. If you feel this particular delve is not netting you enough XP, move to another one.
3. Make note of the type of drops you get along with any chest/node locations. Animal mobs will drop crafting mats while humanoids will drop gold. Grind mobs that drop what you need the most. Some delves will net you less XP but will be rich in chests and nodes.
3. If there are too many players on your current loop, find another loop or ask if you can join. Remember, XP degrades when you have three or more party members so coordinate with those around you and set yourselves up in groups of two. If you're not a people person (like me) just find another area. It can get frustrating but don't take it out on them. They're playing the same game as you. There are multiple locations for every level, so get out there and explore! The more knowledge you have of scouted locations the quicker you can relocate if you feel overcrowded.
4. Quote from Gandalf "Keep it secret, keep it safe". Never disclose your grinding spots online. That defeats the purpose. Tip your cap to other players who found the same spot as you know the work involved in finding them.
5. If the mobs are taking too long to take down or if you are at any time at risk of dying, you are in the wrong spot. Save this location for later when you are stronger. Grinding is all about speed and efficiency.
6. ESO-specific: there are certain areas that are scaled to your level (Wrothgar, hews bane). These are the few and far between areas where max level characters can grind champion points. Out of courtesy to higher level players, if you are not max level please do not grind these areas. You will understand why this is important once you hit max level yourself.
Feel free to contribute your tips and ideas! I will continue to add to this list
