✭You can face him at any level but he will scale to the same level as you. I recently fought a v3 molag bal with my latest alt. The cp make it easy more than anything.PC | EU0 -

The fight is so glitchy I think they make it easy on purpose cos so much can randomly go wrong. Saw a post last week where some guy got to take lyris with him. The first time I fought him I beat him without dying, but the second time I think I died 3 times cos I kept getting stun-locked with no plausible explanation. The 3rd and last time was when I did it with a v3 char, it was quite easy but longer than I remembered.PC | EU0 -
mariskaas✭✭✭This fight i don't understand. I was expecting to die 100 times since i'm a bit squishy but i did not, not even once. He did not even cut half my HP, so i'm kinda hoping that was a bug and it'll be more interesting with my next character xD0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I recently killed him at VR16 and got VR16 Sword Saint's Blade, it was really underwhelming, the fire enchant does only 725 damage and no set bonus. Then I did the Fighter's Guild final quest next and got a decent VR16 Prismatic Blade Longsword, the anti-Daedra enchantment does something like 1450 damage. I liked that one so much I upgraded it to Legendary and will be using that when my tank gets to VR16.1 -

✭I really wanted to do it, and with removal of lock to go to veteran zones I really could, but then I remember I would have to do all those quests again... I can live without a VR16 staff I would keep as trinket.
The Fighters / Mages Guild on the other hand, I'm holding...I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Yeah, as has been said, you keep advancing in level/veteran rank, and Molag Bal scales with you. Still an easy fight, if you know to stay out of the red, unless you stumble over an bug... so some people don't do it until they grinded to V16. Each as they please, I guess.
The point with it is, you won't get cadwells silver zones until you got through Molag Bal... and no gold zones until you got through silver... and that is one of the things they are going to change, unlocking it all for everyone so people have more options right away.
Of course, that is now. Soon enough you will stop at 50, period, and all will be champion points...
And yeah, the mainstory drop is not that great - depending on who plays sacrifice, a healing staff, axe or greatsword... but since all endgame is about the set boni, those are nothing to get excited about (now, if they had a way to learn that partricular style from them... it'd be a different story...). The mages guild and fighters guild rewards on the other hand... those can actually be useful... and leaving the last guild quest "for later" is no problem even now...0
