Do Orc Clans have multiple Chiefs?

Spoilers below for anyone who have yet to play through the Aldmeri Dominion storyline.

Maybe I'm mistaken but Im currently running through Malabal Tor. And theres a Wood Orc Clan in the area known as the Drublog. When you first run into the Clan you meet a Chief that is working for the Hound. This Chief isnt challenged for his position or dies at the players hands or anyone elses. The next time you run into the Drublog you run into a new Clan Chief. And from the story youre told it seems that this Chief isnt new but shes been around for a while.

The first Chief is male, the second female. So theyre obviously not one in the same. And the second Chief is obviously well established as shes fighting the local Bosmer, for what seems to have no reason besides some Romeo and Juliet type of romance, even though they have lived in peace in the past. At least thats what Ive gathered from the questline.

I dont know a lot about the lore and culture of the Orcs, even after Orsinium. But I was under the impression that there was only one chief of a clan and no others. But this portrayal of the Clan Drublog makes me think that when they say Clans they mean Tribe. If this is true then the Chiefs are like the heads of families that belong to this greater Tribe that they identify with. It make much more sense this way but every thing else here in ESO regarding Orcs and Clans gives the impression that each Clan is its own entity sometimes owing no allegiance to the Orc people as a whole.

Any Lore-buffs out there mind weighing in on this?

Maybe the forge/(forget the other one's name)-mother takes over if the chief passes away? Or maybe it's a vote

Not sure myself. Also the fiction & roleplaying, and the players helping players subforums tend to be good for these sorts of questions. :)

From my knowledge Dragontail/Wrothgar orcs only have 1chief. It is always male. Leadership changes when the chief is challenged and defeated.

The Drublog Clan are flithly wood orcs (oddly enough orc racials in esotu resemble wood orcs more than wrothgar orcs) their traditions may be different however clan loyalty is still paramount.

I would guess a chiefs hearth, hunt, or forge wife could lead if the clan was pressed for leadership. But traditionally an orc chief is challenged to 1on1 combat the winner takes all (death for loser).

There is no greater tribe. Those are fancy dreams told by orcs who have no loyalty to their stronghold. They see a future the rest of Tamriel would like to oppress, a unified orc nation.

That all being said. Wrogthgarian Orcs would not accept wood orcs under any circumstance. It'd be like a Breton city welcoming open arms Reachmen, chances are very, very, very slim.

It is written that the Reachmen are 'like Bretons' but not really - "They are believed to be closely related to the Bretons and some Reachmen believe that their people originally came from High Rock." (source). So yeah... the Reachfolk go out of their way to have an axe to grind with obliterating... just about anything.

The first group of Drublog are living in Dra'bul - they have a Chief (who you interact with in Velyn Harbour, and a Chief who leads them and works with the Hound.

The second are living in Bloodtoil Valley, in an uneasy sitting-atop-each-other thing with the local Bosmer - they have a singular female Chief.

A third chief leads some Drublog from Jathsogur.

I think 'Drublog' is just a regional catchall name for the orc tribemen of the area.
