Opinion article: Why I have come to despise this game

Forenote: I am going to be as polite and respectful here as humanly possible. The devs work hard to serve the player base. However, as an American, I have the right and the freedom to voice my own opinion. If you disagree with this, then you don't belong in America, but instead a nationalist country with restricted freedom of speech.

Simply put, nothing works. Nothing. The Anniversary xp boost? It was delayed 2 hours, poorly administered (severe, incredible lag, all players forced into the same zone at the same time), and didn't even stack with crown scrolls as promised. So those of us that purchased scrolls hoping to use them for the event were in short scammed out of our money.

Dungeon finder... Dear god, give me patience... It quotes you anywhere from 1-28 minutes, but you consistently have to wait over an hour for a que, especially for vet dungeons. Oh, and they have a severe bug right now where if you lose a player, it takes over 50 minutes to replace them. Nothing I love more than waiting around for an entire hour watching my horse's tail swing left and right...

This game has been 100% hype and 0% delivery since release, plain and simple. It took over a year (or two) just to scrap the flawed VR ranks, and that still hasn't happened. Here we are, 2016, still waiting, still looking up at the sky hoping for the rain they said would come a long time ago. for these reasons, I have come to despise ESO. It just isn't enjoyable. It's a battle of listening to their promises, then realizing that none of them are ever delivered.

I did. I was a founder. I was there for the beta stress tests when they first released it. Played for 5 months before hitting 50, and there was no endgame. I basically do take breaks though, because I stay logged in for 5 hours waiting for a dungeon that never arrives.

Can I have your stuff? If there are no tanks or healers looking for group then how do you think the dungeon finder will find them? Once I do my pledge on my tank or healer I don't do it a second time. I have gone all day not being able to find a tank or a healer at the times I need them when I am on a dps toon. As far as the XP cake it was silly but still a mistake and they will fix it. Actually the cake is silly rather than just giving everyone the buff.

Play other games while they are polishing their game. Im playing currently Bound By Flame and its surprisingly good, if you look for a game, I totally expected a game I probably play like 1-2 hour per day max but man I played like 6 hour straight. Also Conan Exiles Early Access starts in Summer too.

LMAO I really cant take this seriously when you state that the game is 100% Hype and 0% delivery. I have a few chosen thoughts on what Id like to describe you but I know how the Mods are here. So I'll simply say. Buzz off. Dont like the game? Think it gives you nothing you like? Take a hike and find something else to play. This game is obviously not for you. But do the rest of us a favor and keep your toxic nonsense to yourself from here on out.

My opinion is the exsct opposite. My actusl gameplay experience is its betwn 95-99% delivery of extremely pleasurable gameplay.

So clearly our mileages vary.

Sure it exists here. Freedom of speech/expression refers to legality. Saying whatever you want here isn't illegal, but you can be banned from the forums.

Why complain? You believe that they do nothing to improve this game, you don't enjoy your time in game and you dislike the free events. Sounds like you should really pack your bag and bounce on out.

Also, if group finder is taking a while, it's because every man and his dog is a DPS. Roll a tank or heals, you'll get in faster. Usually less than 10 mins on my tank. And I don't even play at peak times.

I continually see people talking about how broken the dungeon finder is and it takes them anywhere up to an hour to find a group, yet I have not had this issue once since the Orsinium update. The longest I've had to wait since then is 15 minutes tops so I do not understand why people are habing problems because as far as I can tell, it's been fixed. Granted, before that, never found one. It was broken as hell.

I will agree with the poor handling of this. I couldn't even walk two steps when just trying to get to the chef. It was insane how laggy it was. And I gotta say that buying Exp scrols in and of itself is a scam. Same with buying the Vamp/Wolf bites.

I don't know about the OP, but when I despise something, I tend to remove it from my life and make room for things I enjoy. You would think that after two years of being unhappy with something would be enough of a reason to move on because it will never be what you want it to be.

The game isn't perfect, but it still gives me hours of enjoyment.

Uh, we weren't all forced into the same zone at the same time. There was no need at all to go back to your starter zone, unless all of your characters are below level 50. AD Glenumbra (my main's Cadwell Gold zone) was lovely and quiet and I got round Daggerfall in no time at all.
