How are kills counted?

Does anyone have the low down on how kills are counted in PvP? I assumed it was killing blow but see from my stats etc it counts if you tagged an opponent but how exactly does it work?

Do they need to die unhealed from your damage or if you hit someone are they marked as a kill for you when they die etc? Or do you need to do a certain amount of damage for it to count?

Just curious!

Yes, you could basicly get a quest and go afk inside a keep that gets defended by your group and when you get back your quest will be full

Not sure about the damage part. It doesn't reset when he gets healed from what I know. I'd assume it's either a timer or resets when the person gets out of combat, but I never tested it in detail.

I believe to be tagged it's a minimum % of damage, killing blows of course are last hit registered.

Depends what you mean with counting.
For kill quests it's enough if a group member of you contributes to killing the person and stands somewhere near you (quite big area).
For addons like kill counter you need to have done damage to the person.
For slayer achivements you need to have the killing blow.

So @lolo_01b16_ESO the 'kill 20 Templars' etc quests from the boards you don't even need to hit a templar just your group do? Wow!

Then damage, so as long as you damage someone, even if they fully heal and die 1 minute later you would get that one chalked up too? Or is it u healed damage you did as they expire?

No stress just curious to understand it! Ha.
