Cannot login to game - error 301 (3:1:654:0)

Since last week I'm not able to login ESO anymore. I think this is related on the Customer Service Desk advise of opening external ports.
By default in Belgium these ports are blocked, and some can't even be opened.

I don't understand why to advise opening external ports, as you all know this could be a leak for potential virusses.

I'm able to login to the Support site, same credentials as the game.

i started getting this error this morning too, was fine at midnight and by 10am was freezing up my system and couldnt do anything but restart

After hours I still get this message after filling in credentials.
I'm sure credentials are OK, must be something else. I've put in a Support ticket.

Disabling AVG got rid of this error for me.

it has been confirmed through several folks now, disable AVG (or your anti-virus) while you play, no need to uninstall. Hope they give us a reason as to why between 12am monday and 10am monday it caused this....

There has to be another way then disable your pc protection.

Ok, ESO works when you disable AVG 100% and keep windows defender off.

This may not be an ESO issue, but playing without any PC protection isn't an option.

Any ZoS comment on this?

After different ingame problems too I've reinstalled this game, for me the "credential" issue is resolved.
From the Support I didn't get a solution, only to use the Cog icon on the ESO Launcher and sent it to them. They already have tons of this from me.

As for what I read in other comments, I never had ESO issues while running AVG.
Playing/Working without AntiVirus is just not an option.

And since an hour ago I can't login my account anymore, same Error 301 (3:1:654:0).
Was entering a dungeon with a group, ate some ESO cake and got kicked out without error.

After filling in Credentials error pops up again. I'm not planning to re-install this again.

Guys; can you look into this matter? I'm not alone with this same error. After my reinstall of last time it went well for some time.

I suggest excluding files & folders from AVG scans & allow ESO through AVG firewall.
CS once suggested that I would do the same(though I have other antivirus).

I'm also getting the error 301 when trying to log in.

I've tried ALL the suggested fixes, added exceptions, turned out router, and modems, and rebooted them, etc..etc.. Nothing works for me. :-(

I hate that so many of us are missing out on the anniversary adventures.

Disabling AVG did solve the 301 problem for me. Since long ago I have made appropriate exclusions for ESO in AVG and it has worked perfectly. However on the 2nd of April AVG was updated to version 16.61.7538 which I believe causes these problems. Somehow the latest version of AVG does not like ESO.

.I can get in but it still logs me out on char load with no error.

Funny that AV should be blocking the way to a game. At the moment I've reinstalled my computer, and ESO and could log in now. We'll see for how long this will work.
