Hey everyone. Just had some thoughts on new pvp system for ESO. Was thinking about a comment on an ESO live awhile back regarding the "questing areas" of cyrodil. Instead of just throwing some objectives into it (because you know it would turn into 40 man raid clearing out the areas) why not make them queable instances with set amounts of players fighting for control. Much like wows BGs. Tell me what you thing

    problem is this would no longer make these places actually part of the map, if anything place a whole bunch of static defensive catapults and ballistas that are "enchanted" with an echo effect to stop the idea of zergs since it'll have a terrible base damage but a huge scaled up damage

    No no, they can still be part of the map, as questing areas unchanged, but with instanced versions in addition to the overworld cyrodil versions. Some objectives, say 5-10 man. Something you que into. Like a PVP dungeon almost, where the baddies are enemy players, not NPCs

    Your idea sounds ok, but what would be the lore and reason for being obliterated by a siege. If you show up to an area alone, with no other friendlies, and a enemy player solo runs in, you start to fight, but then another player shows up by himself, and another, and another...untill...you get smacked by a NPC siege and die because a bunch of other friendlies had the same idea as you?...no I don't think that would work all that well! I just want an environment where I can fight uninterrupted. Like an arena! And they are coming out with those, but to break up monotony, lets do small team or half raid size EVEN battles going on as well!

    I was watching some wow bg earlier and thinking how cool it would be if eso had something similar. Instanced small scale would be a sure way for zos to offer lag-free pvp. I was also thinking about a pvp dungeon with lore based objectives. I'm pretty sure something similar is in the pipeline but no idea when. Hopefully they give us more than just a room to tdm in, but that would be cool as an option too.

    I think ESO is long overdue for something like this, in all honesty it should have come out when the Wrothgar expansion hit, perhaps it would have stopped so many people from leaving the game (at least on consoles).

    They could have "The Gauntlet" where you can do 1v1's, 2v2's and 4v4's; with leaderboards and either special rewards for the worthy or purple collectibles that can be used to open a vault to get special rewards etc.

    They could also have "Skirmishes" 10v10's and 20v20's with objectives. All of this can be accessed via the group finder tool or can be physically traveled to on the Cyrodiil map. Most of the content in Cyrodiil is left largely ignored for PVP and grinding, I hardly see anyone running dolmens let alone questing.

    Dolmen running is still very big, most of it happens on dead servers though ;) and the questing areas are great fun to tank and grief in...but the IC is better for this since there are close respawns, fights happen more often. But untill they fix the respawn rate, I will not be going in there
