ESO DirectX 11 easy fix so dont lose a HUGE percentage of users and dont have to remove any graphics

So is that why its so hard to connect to the game server or stay logged in without crashing, because my computer uses 12 and ESO uses 11?
I don't remember downloading it, guess my laptop is from the future...

While your current GPU can and does support DX12, it also has the software for DX11 on it and utilizes that when the GPU is communicating with the game's programming.

However; once games inevitably release that only support DX12, you'll be good to go already.

I'm pretty sure they at least considered it, CPU load must have been to high to make it feasible.

I dont know if Id call dx11 modern anymore. Came out I think in 2009. Now if they required dx12 that would be unusual.

I would probably be upset if I was on a system that didn't support DX11. But almost any video card purchased in the last 7 years supports DX11. In the case of a desktop, we're talking about a minor upgrade. "But I have a laptop". Well, that's a downside of gaming on a laptop. You can get a desktop to run this game on medium-ish settings for quite cheap.

The bottom line is they didn't do this for no reason. In order for the vast majority to benefit they have to inconvenience a few people. If the number of people on such old hardware was really high enough to be substantial, they probably would have found another solution. But it's not a situation where everyone gets what they want, unfortunately.

Regardless of all the technical jargon (which I must say I only understood about 35% of, in total), this makes me very sad, as someone who had played ESO since the beta, and can no longer do so.

I'm running the Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M video card, which a lot of websites out there say SHOULD be Directx 11 compatible (but Zenimax says no, and I still don't quite understand why, even after reading all of the above), and I honestly cannot AFFORD a newer computer, so... farewell, Tamriel. The game ran just fine on my ASUS all the way up until they took Directx 10 away, and I really, really miss playing it.
