Question about DK Cauterize morph

This ability heals nearby allies every few seconds, instead of damaging enemies. Does anyone know if it's capable of healing yourself, assuming no allies are in range, or can it only target other players and not the caster?

No, Cauterize does not heal the caster. The caster isn't even a possible target for the smart healing system. It's perhaps the only drawback to this skill, but I feel it's pretty significant. BoL (even since dropping it to 2 targets instead of 3) can target the caster, and it would be great for DK healers to have the same option, considering that the two skills function in almost the exact same way. I'm guessing the reason it doesn't is b/c of the other self-heal options in DK skill trees (e.g. Burning Embers and Deep Breath), but considering how it only hits one target and has an inferior range to both BoL and Healing Ward, I think it should be able to target the caster. My advice is to have Burning Embers or Deep Breath on the same bar as Cauterize, so that you have the ability to self-heal at a moment's notice.
