I hate rubedite!

I am so sick of all my potentially cool looking weapons coming out red! It would be fine if I wore red but I don't, and it would be fine if I could dye my weapons but I can't.

a lot of people have this issue as I wear a lot of black it matches me nicely

like this solution haha just do one of the harder instances in game to get a weapon because it isn't red(other than it being better ofc )

i agree with OP at endgame, you should be able to choose any metal color that you had to go through leveling up your craft, as a perk of being a master crafter

Oddly enough, Rubedite Armor does not seem to take Red Dyes very well....

I rather enjoy the Rubedite/Ancestor Silk/Ruby Ash/Rubedo Leather weapons and armors.

My Sorcerer's Staff (as an example) has a black lacquered haft and red head/prongs on it (Dunmer crafting style) with a white crystal as the focal piece. It looks pretty damn slick IMO.

I can't wait to get my Dunmer Templar up to Metalworking 10/VR15 so I can see the Rubedite Swords.

You know what might be interesting if you wanted to make it a crafting ability is to use the Dragon Age Inquisition format and you can use rebedite to make the weapon at your level then use one of another material to color it. So want it to look grey - use one piece of iron to color it. Want golden/yellowish use calcinium or something like that. Want to keep the black of voidstone - that will be one voidstone to color.

and none of this - well if you are v16 that will be 58 voidstones to color whereas 1 for all the other levels.

I've posted this many times now..

Glass swords come out green. But, vet 16 rubidite swords in glass style come out silver with a very small green stripe through the center. It looks great and guess what? No red!!

Yep, basically what I was about to say. Also, IIRC Ancient Elf swords have a small read trip, but the blade is still green. Though, someone will have to check me on that.

But yeah we have a dye station, just let us pick a weapon colour.

Agree with the I wear black and it matches me nicely, it also looks great with gold...

I LOVE my Rubedite ingot Trinimac Greatsword god it's so sexy

I wish the one hander was not split in the middle then I would have had a 1h as well...

They should add weapon dyes though OP so people like you can have fun ( and people like me since I can get bored eventually )


It's sad that my disease enchant ruins my beautiful rubedite sword I like the red

I'm hoping that the removal of vet levels switches all of the vet mats to lvl 50, and then adds a trait specific to that mineral to the weapon/armour. This would be in addition to being able to craft a trait in. Then you could get whatever colour you wanted without to much loss of potential. It would also keep old mats relevant.

It'll probably never be more than a dream for me though.

It would be cool if you could forge a "hybrid" alloy to give your weapon the look of any one of the other ores. This could extend to armors as well, I really like the look of Jute and some of those lower level materials as well.

That argument faded not long after the dye system was introduced. It took about a week for all the Pinks and Purple gear to go away and now when I see pink or purple, it looks like it belongs, not being done as a joke.

Of topic, but I finally got nice orange with rubedo leather! Though dye colour was some sort of pale red, if I remember right.
