Class Changes or All Skill Sets Unlocked What do you think is best?

Personally I think that class change would be amazing if done right. I don't think that classes changes should be cheap. If one wants to change classes I belive you have to earn it or pay for it.

My 3 methods for classes changes.

1. Beat all three stories and earn 1 free class change.
2. Pay 10,000 crowns for a single scroll to change classes, or 15,000 crowns for 2 scrolls. (The Class Redo Pack)
3. Pay 200,000 in game gold.

My method of how to unlock access to all of the skills for every class to create the ultimate in diversity.

First set up the system to unlock classes in alphabetical order so that one would have to play the full story to unlock access to all skills. So no matter what you start with the next class to open would be in order. ( or choose what skill set you want to open next could be a possibility as well)

Ex: Say you start as a Templar (that skill set is open to you because that's what you are duh) and you beat the first part of the story (faction 1), once that has been completed the Dragon Knight skill set will be open to diversify you class if you should choose to do so. Then say you continue and complete the second part of the story (faction 2), that would then unlock the next skill set which would be the Nightblade, and finally you complete the third part of the story (faction 3) and that would unlock the Sorcerer's skill set. Each skill set that is earned would produce an increased level of diversity for the player. And seeing that there are only so many skill points no one would be able to have them all full at one time. This would also kill basic "cookie cutter" builds and it would/should also stop the cry babies from thinking that having all of this would involve the "flavor of the month" nonsense.

And now you would have all four class skill sets to play with to create what you as a player feel is the right character for you.

Such a system would allow for so many different builds that unique would truly mean unique. You could then be anything you wanted to because you earned it.

Last but not least the system I just mentioned should not be able to have a way to purchase it at all you must complete the story to earn such. No crown store purchase, no gold purchase, NO PURCHASE!

This system is more geared toward people who don't like playing/having alts and for people who love alts. Lol meaning it's made for everyone. How?

Well if you don't like having alts then just playing around with you character is just fun for you to play with.

But if you like alts then your alternate character can not have all skill sets unlocked until that character completes all three parts of the story, meaning you would have one or more characters with the benefits of being diverse meaning you could switch characters out faster that having to pay to redo skill points over and over again and the original reasons for having alts still would exist mean bag space, holding items etc. Not to mention if you pay attention to the fact that its alphabetical some people would already know how to just play up until they unlock the skills that they want to have/play with anyway meaning there is no disruption in the game balance. People would just be what they want to be.

And don't forget that knowing how to play your build means a lot as well, so coping someone doesn't mean you know how to play it the way they do. FPS games for instance have basically every one with the same thing on the same pvp map group vs group, it's just that some people can just play better even though you may be equipped with the same items. Being in tune with you character really does mean a lot when playing games.

I personally would be satisfied with either of these methods but I like the last one the most because it allows for more personal creation.

Curious: Tell me, what do you think? And please make it clean.

Class change would be nice. 10k is way too much though. That's, basically, $100. For 500 or maybe 1k crowns, it would be a really nice option.

In the past, ZoS has said no because you'd have to level up your new class skill lines, but... so long as that was understood? It would be really nice to have.

I personally think a class change mechanism would be a huge big V sign to all the players who've put countless hours into making alts with the intention of having all classes available to them.

From a PvP perspective we'd see even more FOTM classes and even less diversity.

I think Race change will allow folks to alleviate any deficiencies/perceived negative changes that ZoS have introduced to their race post launch but I think it should end there.

Great effort on the post though as it is constructed effectively :)

Or not. Hardly any MMO offers re-classing because it's not necessary. When you come into a game like an MMO you're expected to research the roles, what each class is capable of and what best suits you. Experienced MMO players will already have a feel for what they'll enjoy through previous games, I made the right decision with Nightblade and I've rolled 3 other characters from each class.

The problem with being able to access all class skills is that homogenizes gameplay, not diversify. You think it'll open up a "play how you want to play" situation but instead it'll just create one build that is OP and everyone uses, or similar variations of; you actually lose uniqueness and diversity as people will all run the highest DPS and best healing skills in the game.

This is how MMOs are designed, hell, it's how most, if not all, RPGs are designed. It's not going to change any time soon. Don't like it, don't play RPGs or MMOs. No game is made for "everyone", but that's just fine, we all have different tastes and proclivities.

I didn't actually try to do it that way. I'm more concerned about the subject rather than if it was posted somewhere else (by mistake) or not. But thanks for noticing anyway. o:)

Too complicated. It simply has to be implemented. Something like vampires/werewolves. When you respec once you spend a skill point in one class - other the are locked until you respec the next time. It should be in-game, not just for crowns, there shouldn't be rigid classes at all to start with, but since there are - we should be able to switch. So that we can try all playstyles on one character and still have all our achievements, like in good old TES games.

Like I mentioned in another thread... its highly unlikely they would reconsider their "no class change, ever" position. Since that one would for one be unprofitable - lots of coding to make it possible without breaking something, few people who'd pay enough for it to make it worth the expense - and for another hgurting themselves, since people who have to go for alts to experience all classes bring them more playing time, and are likely to get them more profit that way. After all, if you have four different characters, you might be more likely to buy a special mount for each of them, buy more costumes that make them look good, etc.

No MMO I ever played offered class change... there may be some, since I only play some select few, but most do not consider it worth the bother. Which is what I'd expect from ESO as well.

Options to make all skills available for everyone... those are even worse, since they would end up everyone and their granny running the same super-effective combination, and I can hardly think of anything more likely to leech all the fun out of it. That sort of thing is great for a single-player game, and okay for a MMO if the skills are limited enough that the differences are minor... but in most cases, a MMO lives through the differences between classes, requiring people to band together in groups for some content to use their class/build strengths to balance others class/build weaknesses and have others class/build strengths balance their class/build weaknesses... and the whole of PvP lives from a rock-paper-scissors effect that make people different in their fighting styles.

    Nice try though...

My position is still "nope" to both of those, and hoping for some kind of "prestige-class" feature if they ever do decide to play with the classiness in ESO - as I keep mentioning with my Class Morph Idea ;)

    No class change.

FOTM builds are bad enough as it is.
