If my guild is disbanded can I take over the Guild to keep it alive? And if so how do I do it?

NO. Not unless you are given control of the guild.

I was once a part of a guild where, while I was on vacation, the guildmaster and several of the council members had a huge fight. I came back to find that pretty much all of the council members left to start their own guild, and the guild master apparently rage quit, as he never logged in again.

Seeing as I was the only council member left, after a while, I contacted support, and, after 30 days had passed, they transferred the title of Guildmaster to me. I was even able to change the guild name and everything.

Granted, this was close to the launch of the game, and pretty much all the active members had left or quit playing, so now it's full of long inactive players, and I have a free bank to use. But yeah, it can be done.

I think there is a rather involved process and you have to contact Support to do it.

If the person who is currently the Guild Master is still active, ask them to ask ZOS to make you the Guild Master. It is much more difficult and time consuming to do this solely from your end, like if the current Guildmaster is AWOL.

Otherwise, make your own guild and invite the current members to it if the Guild Master is otherwise not around and can't be contacted.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

If a guild is disbanded, the following will occur:

    a) If the guild has no members when it is disbanded, it will simply cease to exist.

    b) If the guild has members, ownership will transfer to the member who
    1) is the highest rank under the GM
    2) Has been in the guild longest

Example in regards to b): If the GM has not promoted members and everyone under the GM is the same rank, ownership will transfer to the player who has been in the guild longest. If the Gm has promoted members, it will transfer to the highest ranking member under the GM. If there are several members holding the highest rank under the GM, ownership will transfer to the player who has held that highest rank for the longest.

    Hope this helps~

You just have to send a ticket to support and they determine if you are active enough to take over. It may help if you were a high ranking officer also and not someone who is just after the guild bank. (Not saying you are tho)

I know it can be frustrating when, after few weeks of trading without guild trader, you see an annoucement from your guild master that he do not want to keep this guild alive any longer and that he is sorry. Then you start to think who will be your new GM and you even think you could try leading the guild instead, but your messages on guild chat are not replied.
Instead you see your GM downgrading all members and taking away items from guild bank without any words.

When you see this - just leave the guild and find yourself more reliable leader :).

PS. It was such situation with NTC guild, I left because anything could be done. Just a pity of 350+members left alone.

Yeah, I am in a dead guild that I keep around as my 5th for social studies reasons. The GM wandered off after seeing donuts. It is not worth trying to revive the guild, and the guild name is a pet name of the GM so he is not going to let anyone else run it.

This was more for if the Guild Master had already left the guild, but was still in the game.
