Hello,

Is there some sort of outfit system in ESO? Like am I able to equip items as an "outfit" as purely cosmetic but still have my main armor and weapons equipped?

Thanks

    Yes.
    In COLLECTIONS there is COSTUMES.
But you probably haven't unlocked or bought any.

There is the very limited costumes you can get from the Crown Store, but nothing yet that will let you have cosmetic armor looks like in other MMOs. I'm sure they'll have something soon.

Besides the costume system, the only thing that comes close is those with the Imperial Edition perks unlocked, which allows you to transform equipment into the Imperial style. Unfortunately, that rather limits your options.

If you are looking for a specific style for your armor, and costumes don't cut the mustard, then the only other option is to develop your Crafting skills and learn as many Motifs as possible. Racial Motifs are generally common and inexpensive (with the exception of the Imperial Motif, which demands a far greater price), and a number of rarer motifs can even go for an affordable enough price in gold. Harder to do early in game on a new account, but have patience and persevere.

    Maybe i misunderstand something here,
but the crown store has many armor costumes like Imperial Officers, Armored Knights, Nedic armor etc.

They are very limited in that you cannot dye them, mix them with other armor bits, etc, and half of them are just a costume version of armor already available in the game. Some are really cool and unique, like the Nedic armor sets you mentioned, others not so much. Compared to some other MMOs, where you can have every individual piece of armor look like anything in the game, ESO is lagging behind. Now, ESO has some extremely beautiful sets, lots of detail, a mostly great dye system, etc., so the team is by no means slacking, it's just that a lot of that artwork goes to waste because top-tier sets don't come in that look and you can't restyle anything yet.
