Rifton is alittle easier to get around, but the people (ie drunks) make Windhelm a lot more fun.

true there is that issue but everything else is just so convenient, mournhold is just so spread out it irritates me

Very underrated city, IMO.

Extremely convenient with all crafting next to bank and stables right next to wayshrine.

Cool visually as well, incorporating an old ayleid ruin like it does.

Always mystified me why it's not up there as one of the "it" cities.

Riften is far better about its placement. Everything from Crafting Stations, Vendors, Dye Station and the Bank are within a stones throw of each other. The Trade Guilds unfortunately are outside the city. But if I do bother with the Guild Traders at all its usually in Mournhold as the stocks are usually better.

Southern gate. Not really a town, but that's where all my EP toons are usually parked due to proximity to everything. Also easier to get to since can port for free from wherever you are :-)

It's amazing to compare the changes of Windhelm from ESO era to the Skyrim era.

Bleakrock would of been a close second though.

I picked Devons Watch as it always reminds me of the first day of playing the game.

I personally think the pact cities all look too small and could do with being beefed up.

Sorry, I'm not a fan of EP cities, theyre too bleak imo. Even Mournhold.

For over all Crafting, Writs and Shopping, Stormhold is great, everything is close to each other, and you can do all 6 writs by making a small circle.

Sanguines Demense has to be the best Public Dungeon for Grinding, there is a Trader in there so you never have to leave the place.

I like the atmosphere of Windhelm with the all the drunks.

Davons Watch is fun to watch all the new players running around trying to figure things out.

Riften is nice, but I the WS is a little too far from the Crafting area, and the Guild Traders are not convient, but I understand the Lore related reason as to why they are not in the city.

Narsis. It 's the closest of what a real small dunmer town could be in the ESo setup.

I love Mournhold, but it's so empty. No walls, no districts, practically no civilian buildings. It's a shade of what a real Tribunal capital should be.

I'm not a big fan of the atmosphere in the Dunmer or Argonian cities to be honest... I mean they're interesting to explore the first time, but after that I don't feel like I want to spend any time there.

So this ended up being a tough choice between Windhelm and Riften. I really like the drunken party atmosphere going on in Windhelm, but in the end the layout of Riften (being right on the lake like that) makes me pick it over Windhelm.

I love the rift. It is a very beautifull zone (and every EP city is so forgetable, Riften is only one I remember since I liked it in skyrim).

Um, Shadowfen is the zone, not a city. The main city in Shadowfen is Stormhold, which is on the list of choices.

There really isn't a bad city. Stormhold wins for the overall accessibility though. When you need to do a loot drop or writs it's just too convenient.

Riften and Stormhold both have convenient crafting locations by banks.

However, I prefer Stormhold because the guild traders are closer and easier to access, even though they don't have as much a selection as Mournhold but that means the items there are much cheaper. Also, I usually have area chat on to see who I can earn some gold off of by crafting stuff for people and Riften and Mournhold are much too loud for me to tolerate for long periods, so the quiet of Stormhold is another plus.

Mournhold is the best place to level Legerdemain in the game, much less EP. Say your devotions to the three, visit the city center, the Fighter's Guild, and the Mages Guild - you're stocked to max out your launder/sell limit for the day!
