Vicious death procs without enemy even killing anyone?

Let's picture the scenario.... you are in the middle of no where.... you have two guys in front of you, you start applying pressure to one of said two opponents.... you get hit with let's say an 8k crystal frag from said enemy sorcerer... BOOM.. another 10k of your health dissappears from no where, you are then executed by mage fury, and your death recap has 10k vicious death amongst your final blows.....

...but yet again... you are in the middle of no where... your enemy can't have killed another player because you are the only one they are fighting -.-

This set is over powered as it is... but that is a completely different story... but for the effect to proc out of no where for no reason? Clearly broken mechanic lol.

At first I thought it was just coincidence, but after discussing the issue with many other pvp players amongst the guilds i'm in it appears others experience this also.

Thoughts? -.-

EDIT: I shall likely create a montage of this occurring at some point. This set is turning bad players onto absolute warriors lol

As strange as it sounds I was getting people blow up in my face yesterday when I killed them, I wasn't wearing vicious death, I'm not sure if they were but something is definitely wrong with it, happened 2 or 3 times.

Did you read the OP? From his description the damage shouldn't have been there in the first place; after he was dead, or before.

And as far as the explanation goes, ZoS has said it's a graphical bug in the death recap, but that's a redirect because it also shows up in the combat log.

I can confirm with OP that with my own experiences. I have been killed by VD in 1vs1 situation for many times, and the fact is: when I calculate the damage to me from combat log, without the VD damage, I am not taking enough damage to get myself killed. So the conclusion is VD does trigger damage in 1vs1 situation by your own low HP. It's repeated so many times that I can't make myself convinced that it's just a graphical bug.

Yeah same thing happend to me, fighting someone 1v1 and on the death recap it said I was also hit by a 10k VD. But no one else was there so how can it proc if no one has died.

Those that paid plenty gold to buy their piece of cheese will always defend the "visual bug" myth. Let's get in Adam and Jamie, and bust it professionally.

Your just salty about a zerg buster set it seems.

As mentioned above and in countless threads, it's a UI bug. You died and then exploded. It just looks wierd in your recap. You did not take that damage.
To clarify, this is a visual bug with death recap where it still counts the proc as a hit for death recap purposes even though you're already dead. The set is not actually dealing damage to the person who procs it before they die, sorry for the confusion.

But I already taken a VD explosion when playing with only one ally, and he survived from the assault (healing ward spamming). So, we both take a vicious death damage (FTC report recorded it), and none of us die.

I also take 16k3 burst damage and die from a 13k VD, with 17k2 life pool. No people around, only me being killed by a ganker in less than two second, so no heal and no forgotten damage.

I can't record it but I'll take more screen in the future.

Na, I already tried to explain in the other thread, I just don't like bandaid fixes that so far, and this time again, have turned out to make the situation even worse. You're the one that seems a bit salty for others criticising your beloved set.

Got hit by a certain emperor in a certain campaign (not naming) for 16k by VD, before I died. Only other move he did was on lotus fan, followed by sap for 7k and 8k respectively. I have 26k health.

Seriously, I understand emps are OP. But damn if that didn't seem to be actual damage, and not just a bug. Will try to get a pic next time I'm in Cyrodiil.

I have read the other posts. One of which from a ZoS Dev which said "I can confirm it is a sync delay, the damage is appearing on your recap but you have already been delt enough damage to have been killed."

Which as I pointed out on my original post is a lie.

They clearly don't understand the mechanic behind the VD themselves... this has happened before, they don't understand the mechanic behind something and it doesn't work as intended, so rather than fix the problem they pretend it doesn't exist and reword the tool tip for the bug and make it seem as if was always intended to perform like that.

I don't care about the fact there are millions of prox det vicious death nightblades and sorcerers around.... hardly any of these know how to play and it's just a simple case of blocking/mitigating the damage..... but I cannot block damage I have no idea is incoming, and I refuse to permanent block like an idiot 24/7

The people that believe the previous explanation by ZOS are clueless. The set is bugged, get over yourselves.
