Two crafting ideas

1. Jeweler. A separate skill line in which to put skill points. A special workstation where players can make their own rings and necklaces. Wilderness crafting stations would have a Jeweler station added to them.

2. Player-created disguises. Mats for the disguise would be those clothing items you sometimes find in barrels or crates. These could be "stitched together" either at a clothing station or at a special ancillary station similar to a clothing station. Each item going into the disguise would have to be dyed whatever color the player wanted before stitching occurred. Once the disguise was made, it would be thereafter unalterable, except to destroy it. Any combination of clothing items could be stitched into a disguise, provided that there was at most one item per wearing location (i.e. one chest garment, one legs garment, one hat, etc.).

Jewelry in my opinion, shouldn't be seperate....it should be craftable with a combination of two existing lines.
So let's say Blacksmithing and enchanting ....

If it's a new line, then they would have to add 12-16 more skills quests in the Base game which would be weird considering VR is being removed.

Nah. Jeweller is -nothing- like blacksmithing, they are two completely seperate skills. One is all about pounding red-hot metal into shape and increased durability, the other is all about pouring molten silver or gold into forms and cutting gems before setting them.
Sure, some historical blacksmiths also learned a jewellers craft, so they could make ornate gilded stuff for noble customers... but most did not, and just made plain, functional metalwork. Heck, in medieval times, even the ones working with copper were considered a different profession...

So, I say, let's make jeweller a valid craft skill instead. Which would require adding some more things to craft... which I would like to see.

One thing that comes to mind is crowns/circlets, as a headgear type that does not provide armor, but instead gives a magical bonus - to a whole group if worn by the group leader (come on, I am sure some people would love wearing an impressive crown while storming a keep, yes? ;) )

And then... there is that old "Spell Focus" idea of mine, about an alternate weapon for destruction and restoration magic... depending on racial style these could be holy symbols, ornate spellbooks, gemmed skulls, meditation crystals, gilded wands, shaman rattles, etc.; thuse would be right up a jewellers alley...

And those two ideas together with rings and amulets wouzld bring a jerelry crafting options up to seven things... which would be one more then woodworking... thus make it a valid crafting line! And that is exactly what I would want to see.

As for skill points... eh. Let people have to choose where to spend theirs, there are more then enough to go around...

I envision two dozen Pact "kings" on the battlefield trying to take the same fortress away from AD or DC. Everybody's gotta be a "leader," don't you know, 'cause the alphas are the ones who will get to do all the canoodling with the conquered chicks later.

Well, that's why it would be a tradeoff... you sacrifice some armor (the helmet) for your nice leader crown. Leadership bonus or combat bonus... take your pick... and a group only has one leader (the one with the crown symbol) to gain the bonus from a crown/circlet, so a pack of leaders wouldn't be as effective as one leader and a troop of killmasters... ;)

I'd all be for a "capture" machanic to drag conquered people back to your homebase for, uhm, "interrogation". But that would be a different discussion I suppose... (maybe someone will necro it someday)

Jewelry crafting is a skill line I desperately hope they add soon. It would also be nice to actually have aesthetic representations on the characters, and a set of new resources to mine, like silver, gold, etc.

Though what I would really like to see is the ability to dye costumes first, the idea of creating a disguise/costume is a great one.
