CP Question

A lot has changed since I've come back, I'm sitrting at around 172 CP on my V16 DK. I was wondering, what is it that gives me the Enlightment thing that comes up that I believe gives a boost to CP?

Also, I have a V3 Sorc, does CP gains gain the same from rank 1-16 or if I play through all the quests in each faction on my sorc will he gain me more CP?

Enlightenment is awarded automatically by the game at 24 hour intervals. IIRC it dispenses in clumps of 100k/400k per day, and stacks to 300k/1200k. Though, I haven't checked those numbers since they overhauled the XP progression for CP, so they might not be current.

The short answer is your Sorc will gain CP from running the rank 1-16 content. But, that's really because anything you do with your Sorc which earns XP will grant you CP. Also, your CP is account wide, so if you spend time on your VR3, it will advance your V16, and vise versa (though, playing on your DK will not increase your Sorc's VR, just their Champion Points).

    Oh Ok that makes sense.

Yeah I knew the CP was account wide, just wasnt sure if the cp gain is the same wether your v1 or v10 or 16 for example. But that makes sense that doing quests gaining xp will gain more CP. Thanks for the reply.

You get enlightenment every 24 hours, which stacks up to 12 days worth. If your CP progress bar is shaded light red/blue/green on the end, you have enlightenment left. The point where the end of the bar turns black is when you have used up your enlightenment.

Every 24 hours you get 100k xp of enlightenment, which multiplies the xp earned times 4 towards your CP progress.

The amount of xp needed per CP increases as you approach the current Cap, 501. Something like this. ((TotalPoints / (Cap ^ 0.995)) + 0.085) x 400000

CP gain per character is... kinda account wide. Last time I checked anyway.

Each character earns towards the next point independently, so if you get one character 90% of their way towards the next CP, and then log to another character and earn 20%... you won't earn another CP. Though, if you earn a CP on the second one, and jump back you'll only need ~10% to advance. (It will actually be a little more than that because the per CP experience costs go up, and the game stores the amount of XP a character has earned towards the next CP. But, still, same basic idea.)
