why does loot suck so bad

i just went deep into enemy territory to get hidden treasure from the cyrodiil treasure maps and out of the 4 chests I got 4 v15 items from them and I am v16

why am I getting v15 crap I cant use jeez this is stupido

    Be nice and offer suggestions instead of just complaints.

    I had an idea.

    There is a CP passive called "Treasure Hunter" that increases the quality of items you find in treasure chests. Most people (if not all) don't benefit from this passive because that would mean they would need to put 75 CP into the "Shadow" skill tree. In my experienced opinion, there are better (and necessary) passives (outside of the Shadow) to invest into on the green side of the Champion system.

    I think they should move this Treasure Hunter over to the "Lover" skill tree or the "Tower" skill tree because that's where most people invest most of their green CP into.

    Loot has always been a problem in this game. Even in beta people realized that 97% everything you pick up in-game is trash/decon fodder. The gear treadmill ZOS is implementing with these DLCs will only continue the trend.

    Here is a suggestion.

    On a V16 character in end game zones (Cyrodiil, IC, Hew's Bane, Wrothgar), increase the percentage of v16 gear drops to at least 50%)

    Give us a higher chance at stuff we can actually use!

    I have the treasure hunter CP buff, and I still get 99% V15 stuff on my v16.

    Doesn't treasure hunter just improve the color of items? For example it gives you a chance of gettig something gold when it was purp right? Not actually giving better RnG chances?

    Only time general loot was worth picking up was with the introduction of IC and VR15/16 gear. Now that VR15/16 mats are abundant, it's back to worthless again.

    But what almost annoys me more is that loot often makes no sense. Trolls drop gold, wolves drop bows, so on and so forth. What used to be great about TES is that whatever an NPC wears, you get to pick up. ESO is just whack in this regard.

    I feel you on this but I don't think such a system could work in this ES/mmo environment. Even if they made it so you would still just be getting random junk armors and weapons that the enemy was using. The strength of crafting in this title makes drops useless besides to sell and deconn, which again supports crafting. I actually like this but do wish they added the possibility to find some random motifs or other decent treasures from enemies. Or at least up the gold dropped a bit, lol.

    So far, in my experience, if you are on a V16 character any purple drops in those boxes are v16. I haven't gotten enough of them to know for sure. I've never gotten a gold item. Most are blue and green V15.

    BoP is the bane of my existence. At the very least a "trade dungeon loot with party" option. My tank buddy would have loved that Engine Guardian Helm that dropped for me and collects dust in the bank.

    While there are some Gold Loot Items in the game, they don't really drop. The few that did were removed.

    However your right that if your going to get an item on your VR16 level, it will be Purple and Blue one level lower. At lower levels, you could get both Purple and Blue items at your level, at least from Wrothgar Daily Containers it works this way.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Ive suggested gem system to them, green gem 5k, blue gem 10k, purple gem 30k and legendary 60k, or so.

    From what I've gathered, treasure hunter only increases the number of items, not quality. You get the same junk just more of it. Lol

    Having to spend points to get drops of your current level in an area which is supposed to scale is not a very good suggestion. It should be complained about because it was dumb to have this implemented in the first place. Complaints can still be constructive if the point/fix is quite obvious.

    hello and welcome to the MMO genre! Hope you enjoy your stay. Please, while you are here, feel free to complain endlessly about how this is not skyrim or -insert favorite single player game here- and actively work to change this game into something that doesn't even make sense in the online RPG genre - where achievement and reward are paced a tiny bit to encourage longevity.

    I always thought the loot intentionally sucked so you would invest into crafting, almost all items I get from drops, chests, quests, etc go to being deconned and the rest I can't break down go to vendor. I have almost 8/9 on every item piece (no nirnhoned) so I craft my own gear every 6-8 levels or every 3-4 VR levels for each character.
