Thieve trove lockpicks.....the new worm

I've found several Thieve troves and found only lockpicks. I'm not surprised by the lazy, selfish action of not emptying the trove completely, so a new one will spawn, but I am annoyed and disappointed. This is worse than leaving worms in an Ancient Silk node after taking the silk. Worms actually have value, useful as bait or a good kiosk item. Lockpicks from troves, on the other hand, are much less useful, just because they are soooo plentiful. I wouldn't mind players leaving the lockpicks if troves spawned like they did in the first week, but now that the spawn rate is much lower, it is indeed a bitter pill when spotting a trove to find only....LOCKPICKS! For the *** players who can't be bothered to take the lockpicks (you know who you are), I wish it is your karma to have this come back to you ten-fold.

I knew exactly what you meant when I read the title. Other than the first few hours I've generally come across more half-looted troves than proper ones.

I suppose so many other aspects of the game annoy me far more that this one doesn't even register though.

People suck sometimes... I've had a similar experience to the OP and while not serious, it's annoying.

Another example: doing world boss dailies in Wrothgar, people asking for Edu in zone chat for 10 minutes. I spot a player going about killing those slow-spawning mobs which are the secondary objective to the boss. I was going to ask him if he had the quest and if he could share, but before I was done typing he started offering to invite people. So basically he took care of the mobs alone, enlisted others to help him with the boss and left them to wait 10 or so minutes for the mobs to respawn.

The trove will probably disappear after a few minutes, like all of the other resource nodes. Touching a node causes a timer to start, whether or not anything is taken from it. For resource nodes, this timer is just a couple minutes. Troves do not re-appear right away, so I doubt that extra couple minutes makes a difference.

Disclaimer: I have not tested troves to see if this happens. It would have to be done on PTS since it is too easy for someone to wander along and ruin the test.

You really have to wonder about people like the ones cited above freeing prisoners before inviting a group. Thankfully, Wrothgar groups have been more cooperative recently about waiting for most of the group before killing the ogres or freeing prisoners. As for the others, who leave lockpicks, worms, and solo long spawns, they can go hug themselves.

this news worries me that the day I DO find one, I'll get only lockpicks... please at least give lockpicks a value of 1 per unit, that way if you stash em up to 100+ it gives at LEAST that. (It may also lead people to pick em up rather than leave them there)

They are all over the map, not just in Hew's Bane. so that should help.

It is not confined to troves though probably accentuated by their rarity and desirability. It's no worse though for its level than finding crawlers but no jute. I do agree about the lockpicks though. I check containers I'm going to loot before I bother (I don't auto anything) and won't bother for food or lockpicks since it would often get me killed if caught. Why do I get caught for a lockpick when I have a bag full of loot? The perversity of the universe. I will say, in my own defense, that I have been guilty of leaving worms in plants because my bag was full and I had nothing to destroy that wasn't worth more than the worm so maybe the people leaving the trash behind are just guilty of pushing their looting past the break point and I'm sure we have all done that.
