Guild traders bidding to improve?

Can the actual system of bidding for traders be improved somehow?
To deal with a situation when a strong and active trading guild has no trader for a week or more just because some other guild overbid tchem once or more times.
I don't know, maybe increase the number of available traders in Tamriel, create new trader hubs, or make additional bidding a day after the main one, for those guilds which did not win a trader. Give all guilds more chances to get any trader.
Now the trading guilds loosing their traders often face the problem of people leaving in search of guild with active traders.
Actual system isn't perfect and in my opinion should be improved.

They have added more traders with each new DLC.

What I do is make sure I or someone else in the guild is online when the traders switch to try and find an alternate if needed/possible.

Of course, the fact that the switch now coincides with the start of maintenance makes this trickier.

Sounds like your guild was caught sitting on their laurels and got sniped. It happens. Move on and increase the bid next week or find a new trader. By increasing traders you would then increase supply while maintaining demand. I wasn't an economics major but I know enough that it means prices would fall.

Adding more traders doesn't really help. Most of the traders outside of main trading hubs aren't owned by trade guilds anyway. To reduce the risk to lose a trader it might help if we could put bids on more than one trader. And while I'm on it, I'd also like to be able to withdraw a bid.

Bidding on more than one trader would help. And having more traders would definitely help with prices.

Tired of "trading guilds" buying every other trader in a city so they have no competition. Bad system. At this point any idea is better.

Easy solution is to outbid them for those traders. Problem solved. You're welcome. Btw, auction houses will destroy this game and the economy.

Can you explain exactly how an auction house would destroy the game & economy?

What would be nice, is being able to access all trade guild items from one place with some sort of search function built the character screen, instead of riding all over the maps trying to find particular items.

Sure, everyone loves to undercut for the quick sale. It's only marginally an issue in a trading guild because of the limited # of players but you expand that to the entire ESO population in one house. HA! Good luck making any money there. Prices will plummet until the point that it is totally worthless to try and deal in anything but a handful of the rarest items.

Global trader is my vote .. absurd idea putting people in charge of people, now they charge other gamers to use their trader or they will get kicked for being a freeloader. I've even had personal experience with a certain guild trader owner taking my money (20k Gold which would allow me 4 weeks of 'allowed' selling rights) then he instantly removed me from the guild and refused to reimburse me the gold because 'it has been used for the better of the guild'. [snip]

Why do the devs have meetings with guild trade owners ? What exactly are they discussing? In my opinion a chat box (console) would put an end to this bs trade guild farce... Makes me think it could have something to do with why this ...MMO, doesn't already have a chat box.

Not only do you HAVE to pay to sell your own items, but get this .. if you list your item, that you've paid a fee to be 'allowed' to sell,.. for a fee lower than what the trade guild leader says you can list it for ... You get banned from the trade guild.

Bidding for a guild trader forces a sizable amount of gold to be spent. This means the guilds who charge people per week/month don't just hoard gold and cause inflation. Gold is essentially limitless since it can be farmed, and with people just buying and selling from each other gold is constantly going into circulation. So an auction house where everyone can just list their items is taking away one of the bigger gold sinks that our economy kinda needs. It also kinda polices over-saturation of the market by limiting the number of guild traders and the number of members each guild can hold.

It all comes down to exactly what KaleidoscopeEyz mentioned.... outbid them. If you can't, keep trying, they cannot afford to continuously buy out the entire market, Don't buy from those traders, that just gives them more money. While the system we have now is not perfect it's still better then most of the alternatives. Also, while having an auction house might create a universal price for most goods, (like all arcane necklaces of willpower having the exact same price) it eliminates the possibility of finding a great deal from an obscure location from a player who maybe didn't know what it was worth and didnt bother doing research. That practice is how a lot of players makes all their money.

    Global trader please.

5K plus weekly mandatory "donations" are absurd and appear to be the norm now.

I disagree with the last part of this.. I played DCUO and made plenty of money on their global broker.. a global trader doesn't automatically mean people will research prices. I specifically remember buying 2 rarest items for 12m each in the same day to complete an achievement to gain a skill point.. the very next day I found the exact same item for 200k so I bought it and made back 50% of what I spent the day before.

If these items are the rarest item in the game then there won't (or.. shouldn't) be many of them to sell, therefore who is to say what price things are to be sold for.

This guy gets it. Worked the same way on wow. You had people or groups of people who tried to control the market but it never worked. Prices always stabilized. I'd like to see a global AH. But honestly anything is better than what we have now. One guild buying all the traders in one city is a monopoly, and simply stating that we just need to out bid them next week isn't going to solve the problem seeing as they make their money back and then some. They really need to just come out with guild halls with a built in trader. And do away with the multiple guilds so that people will stop monopolizing the market.
