Val skoria or maelstrom weapons

I have put together a stam dk. I have a full set of briarheart, and I'm curious which would put out better dps. My dk has about 5 dot's going at a time, including rapid strikes. I can either equip the val skoria set, or kena with 2 maelstrom weapons. I'm curious if anyone knows which may put out more reliable dps before I go farm maelstrom.

What does a head and shoulder have to do with weapons?

Sorry, I didn't explain properly. I'll also use hunding rage. So based on the available gear slots I can do one of two set ups. Use val skoria 2 piece along with the 5 piece hunding and briarheart. Or, 5 piece briar, 1 kena shoulder, 4 piece hunding and the maelstrom daggers or axes. I'm curious which would be a better set up before I go bang my head against the rng wall of vMA.

I think if you have perfect traits, you will do best with Briarheart Jewelery and 2 pieces of armor, 5 hundings armor, and all Maelstrom weapons. I cant confirm because I dont play stam DK and my Briarheart set has terrible traits for the most part. Also, all my stam weapons from VMA other than one bow have a defending trait making them totally useless. Welcome to the grind.

A lot of theory crafters seem to be excited about this setup if the traits are right. Stam DKs really benefit from the enchant on the Maelstrom Dagger and Axe, because they run flurry and lots of DoTs. If you dont have perfect traits on your briarheart (v16, divines armor, robust jewelry), my guess is you are better with a little more traditional setup of 5 hundings, 3 agility, 1 kena, 2-3 Nightmothers, or perhaps hundings, agility, skoria, Maelstrom weapons. Also, if you are the only stam character in your group, you can actually pull slightly higher numbers with 5 nightmothers over 5 Hundings, but only one stam character needs to run 5 nightmothers. It doesnt stack. I would go hundings if you only plan to make one set.
